This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
You are trying to upload images to the Divi Gallery module and noticed that images load for the Khmer language page but not for the default English page. Despite installing Media Translation, the issue persists.
Solution:
We discovered that the issue might be due to a conflict caused by the Easy SVG Support plugin. We recommend deactivating this plugin and then proceeding with the following steps:
1. Navigate to WPML > Settings and click on the Media Start button.
2. Go to WPML > Support > Troubleshooting and click on the language information button.
After these steps, try uploading a sample image again. If the problem continues, consider using the Safe SVG plugin, which we have not officially tested but have not received any conflict reports about either.

Please note that this solution might be outdated or not applicable to your specific case. If the issue persists, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If needed, do not hesitate to open a new support ticket for further assistance.

Background of the issue:
I am trying to upload images to the Divi Gallery module. I noticed the images loaded for the Khmer language page, but not the default English page. I installed Media Translation as well but this did not resolve the issue. Link to a page where the issue can be seen: hidden link

Symptoms:
Nothing appears on the English page. Images were uploaded to the Khmer page, but I was never on the Khmer page when I was editing the module.

Questions:
Why are the images not appearing on the English page?
How can I ensure the same images appear for all languages without needing different images?

Hi,

Would you please get back to us with the login information of the staging version of the website for further investigation?

Make sure you set the next reply as private to provide the info.

Thanks.

Hi,

Thank you very much I reported this to the second tier support. I will get back to you as soon as I have news.

It might take time. Meanwhile would you please create a new test page and add an image gallery there and test if the same thing happens there?

If not, I'd appreciate it if you delete the gallery on the age that has the issue and start over for the gallery part.

Thanks.

As you requested, I deleted the Gallery on the existing page.
Saved the page.
Exited the Visual Builder.
Enabled the Visual Builder.
Added the Gallery module back in.
Selected my images. (See screenshot ... images never stop loading)
Got tired of waiting.
Accepted my module changes.
Saved the page.
Disabled Visual Builder (see screenshot with broken images).
Checked the Media Library.
It shows NO IMAGES being uploaded this month even though I just uploaded 12 of them. (See screenshot - Notice it is set to English, Feb 2025 images)
Changed the WP Dashboard language to Khmer while still viewing the filtered media library.
All newly uploaded images are there. (See screenshot - Notice it is set to Khmer, Feb 2025 images)

English is set as the default language.

Hi,

Thank you I have an answer from the second-tier support.

Because you translated the images in Media translation those images show differently on the translated page.

For example if you go to WPML > Media Translation and search for sky bar bangkok you will see the first image of the gallery and it is translated to the other image that you see on the translated page. Check the attached screnshot

So you need to remove the translation form there to have the same image for the translated gallery.

Thanks.

This does not explain why it happened.

Can you explain why the site would even attempt to translate Media when we never had it set to do so?

I am now going through 500+ images and resetting the translation.
I do not want to go in and do this again.

Are the settings correct for us to NEVER USE translated images?

Please advise

Is there a way to revert these 500+ images back to the original in bulk?

Well, forget that.

This issue is still not resolved.
When I add images via the Media Library, nothing appears in the Media Library.
And, when I add images, your system is randomly assigning images as Media Translations when I have everything turned off as per your documentation.

Here is a Loom video of my frustrating experience:

Hi,

Thank you and sorry for the late reply due to the weekend time.

I created a video to ask some questions and see if I can have more information to be able to replicate the latest issue that you showed on the video:

hidden link

So here are the questions:

- Does the upload problem you mentioned in the video happen for an image that has a unique name that you are sure it is not used otn he website before?
- Does it happen ion the staging4 version that I have access to? As I could not replicate the same problem there.
- I wonder if there is a reason that the option for making the media available for the translated page is disabled in WPML > Settings > Mediia translation section?

Thank you.

Ok, so here is my reply:

All of my stuff has been moved to the staging installation, as you requested an instance where you could freely make changes. So please feel free to dig in and tell me what needs to change.

I realize this started as a question about updating the images using the Divi Gallery module. But clearly, these issues are all related to a problem with the Media Translation.

My questions:
Why are ALL of my uploaded images going in as a Khmer translation?
How can I get rid of ALL ATTEMPTS at automatic Media Translation?

I explained all the details including the two questions you posted at the end of your reply.

I'd appreciate it if you could give your feedback regarding the upload issue.

Thank you.
