This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client needs to set the backend language to English while keeping the frontend default language as Greek for the end users.

Solution:
We recommend checking our guide on how to set the WordPress administration language independently of the frontend language. You can find detailed instructions here: Setting the WordPress Administration Language.

Please note that the solution provided might be outdated or not applicable to your case. If after following the guide, you're still facing issues, we encourage you to open a new support ticket. Hi there. Is there a setting somewhere in WPML to change the backend language to English and stick with this; but for the frontend to remain in Greek as default language for the end user?

Hi,

Thank you for contacting the support.

Admin language is independent of the frontend language, please check this guide https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/setting-the-wordpress-administration-language/ for details.

Regards.
