Opening a new ticket since the previous two where closed due to old age:

* https://wpml.org/forums/topic/split-i-am-trying-to-apply-new-image-sizes/

When our editors add a featured image to an original and crop it, the translated post will not get the cropped version of the featured image. I was told a fix was scheduled for 4.7 but it appears to still be broken.

Hello there,

Thank you for your patience.

We've reviewed the issue and confirmed it's a known limitation with image metadata not syncing after edits to attachments that already have translations. Given the complexity and the relatively low impact, it's currently not scheduled for immediate development.

At this time, the only available solution is the suggested workaround:
https://wpml.org/errata/cropped-featured-image-not-displayed-in-translations/

We understand this isn’t ideal and appreciate your understanding while we keep this on our radar for a future cycle.
