This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
You are experiencing an issue with the WPML plugin not functioning correctly after changing your site's URL from hotelcaalvise.eu to caalvise.com. An error message indicates that WPML has detected a change in your site’s URL.
Solution:
We recommend following these steps to resolve the issue:
1. Go to WPML → Settings → Translation Editor.
2. Select the Advanced Translation Editor (recommended) option.
3. Navigate to WPML → Translation Management.
4. Check if the Site Moved wizard appears. If it does, choose the second option—Changing to a New Site URL—and follow the wizard's steps to complete the process.
For more details, please make sure to refer to our documentation: Using Advanced Translation Editor when you move or use a copy of your site.

Please note that this solution might be irrelevant if it’s outdated or not applicable to your case. We highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If the issue persists, please open a new support ticket at WPML support forum.

Background of the issue:
good morning
I am trying to use the WPML plugin on my site, which was previously hotelcaalvise.eu and is now renamed to caalvise.com. I want to use the translator feature.

thank you for your help

Symptoms:
The plugin is not functioning as expected, and I received an error message: 'WPML has detected a change in your site’s URL. To continue translating your site, go to your WordPress Dashboard and tell WPML if your site has been moved or copied.'

Questions:
How do I resolve the error message related to the change in my site's URL?
What steps should I take in the WordPress Dashboard to inform WPML about the site move or copy?

Thank you for your feedback.

The warning should be harmless and might be unrelated to the initial problem.

Please update your WPML plugin and add-ons to the latest version, 4.7.6, to benefit from the latest bug fixes and improvements. This may not necessarily resolve your problem; however, we need to work on the newest code available to troubleshoot the issue best.

You can check the latest released versions under "My Account -> Downloads" on this site. Instructions to update can be found here: http://wpml.org/faq/install-wpml/

If you do not see the updates, you might need to click the Check for updates button in the Plugins → Add New Plugin → Commercial tab.

Have you tried the steps I provided earlier?

Please remember to backup your database before you proceed.

Can you try these steps?

1. Go to Plugins → Add New and click the Commercial tab. Click Unregister WPML from this site.

2. Once the page loads, click on Register WPML. A message asking you to enter the site key will appear. Click on Get a key for this site.

3. In your WPML account, complete the site key wizard and set it to Production site.

4. Copy your new key and paste it in the Commercial tab. When done, you can delete your old site key in the WPML account.

I need to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site—preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated if possible—in order to be of better help. When you log in to leave your next reply, you will find the needed fields below the comment area. The information you will enter is private, meaning only you and I can see and access it.
