I think I might have resolved my issue from earlier - however a second issue I'm having, I would like to add the language selector as a menu item next to the search icon or just underneath it. I have also added it as a floating widget, but would like it to appear nearer the top, is this possible too please? I will then choose one or the other.

Hello There,
Thanks for contacting WPML Support. I will try my best to assist you in this matter.

By default, the WPML language switcher can be placed on the Menu section, Footer, and Widget area of the site. Please check this guide for more details about placing a language switcher.

However, please note that you can also place the language Switcher anywhere on your site using the language switcher Shortcode.

If you have the flexibility to edit the section where you want the language switcher to appear, then add a text/shortcode widget and place the Shortcode. The Language Switcher will start to appear inside the Offcanvas.

[wpml_language_switcher]

For more details about the shortcode, please check this link: https://wpml.org/documentation/support/wpml-coding-api/shortcodes/#wpml_language_switcher

If you want to customize the appearance of the Language switcher, you can do that from the "WPML > Languages > Custom Language Switcher" section. "Enable" the Custom Language Switcher first to see the options for customization.

More information about the custom language switcher are available here: https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/language-switcher-options/custom-language-switcher/#the-settings-part

Let me know if that helps or if you need further assistance in this matter. I will be happy to help.

Best Regards,
Prosenjit

Thank you for the reply. However I am still having issue with the language changes not saving once my client has translated into German. Why is this please? Are you able to look at my settings?
So he is set up as a translation manager & translator. He goes into the edit box and click to edit, makes the changes and tries to save. Some times it has said saved, but others it hasn't and he has the error message, but the edits are still there in the edit box. If I do it from my side I can save his changes.
He is losing trust in the plugin and this is a big client for me, can we solve this quickly please?

Hello There!
Thank you for the update.

I understand that one of your clients is experiencing issues with saving content. This could be due to various factors, such as server resource limits or plugin conflicts. We’d be happy to investigate and assist further. However, please note that, according to our support guidelines, we can address one issue per thread. Since the issue you described in your last message differs from the one specifically mentioned in this ticket, could you please create a new ticket for it?

If you have any screenshots of the error or an error log captured when the issue occurred, please include them in the new ticket. We’ll be happy to review and advise on identifying the root cause and resolving the issue.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. If you have any other questions or need assistance with the primary issue reported in this ticket, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I’ll be happy to help.

Best regards,
Prosenjit
