Background of the issue:
I manually translated the links on 1,185 new pages over the course of 20 hours because the tool could not handle this automatically. To avoid losing that work, I changed the settings to prevent link translation. However, I’ve noticed that the new content is still not being translated. Here is a link to a page where the issue can be seen: hidden link

Symptoms:
The new content is not translating automatically. I expected to see all the items translated, but instead, I got only 4 items in each language.

Questions:
Why is the new content not translating automatically?
How can I resolve the issue of only 4 items being translated in each language?

Hi,

Can you please try the following?
(Or allow me to try it.)

1. Install the Duplicate Post plugin.
https://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicate-post/
It enables you to duplicate a page or post.

2. From Page -> All Pages, duplicate this page: hidden link.

3. Now send it to translation from WPML -> Translation Management.

4. Translate it with the Advanced Translation Editor.

5. Check if it is translating correctly now.

Please note that I have disabled 'Translate Everything' in WPML -> Translation Management.

Please let me know the results of this.

Thanks,
Itamar.

Hello,

I'd like to try this plugin, but it seems tedious to do this as soon as an article is added. Don't you have anything native to automatically translate new content?

For STN, it's now done automatically. I just spent 20 hours manually changing the links on 1,282 pages. If I now have to do everything manually for the content as well, I'm not sure I'll use your plugin for my future development sites.

Hi,

I apologize if I was unclear. I didn't mean you do that for all the content on your site. I just meant you try it once for the following post and tell me the result.

Can you try that?

You wrote: "For STN, it's now done automatically."
Could you please clarify what you mean by "STN"?

You wrote: "I just spent 20 hours manually changing the links on 1,282 pages."
Could you please explain why you did that and how it relates to the problem you presented?
WPML should handle internal links. If they are not handled correctly, you can try the option in WPML -> Settings -> Translate Link Targets.

Itamar.
