Copy content from English main language page to a translated page. I have an ACF repeater field that gets copied over, but the fields come over as blank

How to get fields copied over correctly?

Our Repeater fields are set up in the following manner:
Main Repeater field = translation preference of Copy Once
Child Fields in Repeater = translation preference of Copy Once
When a new translated page is made and we select Copy content from English, the fields carry over and the data is viewed correctly on the front end but the fields themselves in the page editor are blank.
I have tried several variations of setting the translation preference of the repeater fields, but nothing has affected the issue. I would like to emphasize that this issue is exclusively affecting the repeater fields
