Adding a little more detail. Sometimes the Advanced Translation Editor appears to get stuck and the "Complete Translation" button keeps animating indefinitely. At that time, in the Console I can see this error: Uncaught (in promise) TypeError: Failed to construct 'URL': Invalid URL |

Hello There, I understand the issue you're experiencing. Typically, translating a segment or completing an entire translation shouldn't take much time. However, factors such as content size and server configuration can cause delays. That said, based on your site’s configuration and the information in our system, there shouldn't be any issues with the translation editor. Could you please try the following steps and see if they make any difference in the result? 1. Please go to Settings > General from your Dashboard and ensure that the site URL and WordPress URL are configured correctly. Both should point to the main domain. - Clear WPML cache 5. Once you've completed these steps, clear the cache from both your site and browser. Then, try to translate a page and see if you're still having the issues. Let me know how it goes. I'll be happy to help if you need further assistance in this matter. Best regards. |

Hello Mary-Jo This type of issue or console error typically occurs when a translation job is initiated on a different domain or configuration than the current one. According to our records, it seems you've migrated your site from "edcapnyorgstg.wpenginepowered.com" to your main domain. It's possible that the translation jobs were started on the staging domain, and now, when attempting to complete them on your main domain, you're experiencing delays. Could you please make a small update to the default page or create a new page, then try translating it as outlined below and check if the issue persists? - Please go to WPML -> Translation Management -> Select the page -> Send for translation -> Translate myself -> Go to Translation queue -> Take and translate. As a side note, I'd like to inform you that we are aware of an issue that occurs when editing translations from the front end. After completing the translation, the page may redirect to a different URL. For more information, please refer to this errata: https://wpml.org/errata/wpml-incomplete-ate-translation-from-front-end-translation-link/ Since you're experiencing a similar issue (being redirected to another page after completing the translation), you can try the workaround mentioned in the errata. Please let me know the update. I'll be happy to help if you need further assistance in this matter. Best regards, |

Thanks Prosenjit. I created a new test Page as you described. Unfortunately, the ATE gets stuck and I'm still getting the same console error when I translate manually and hit the Complete Translation button. I'm adding a screenshot of what I'm seeing. I haven't tried the URL redirect solution yet, but this other issue is more critical. best. Mary-Jo |

Hello There, Thank you for trying out the suggestions. As the issue persists, a closer inspection will be required to understand the root cause of the issue. I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to take a better look at the issue. It would be better to have a testing site where the issue is replicated. You will find the needed fields below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply. The information you will enter is private which means only you and I can see and have access to it. Maybe I'll need to replicate your site locally. For this, I’ll need to temporarily install a plugin called “Duplicator” or "All in One WP Migration" on your site. This will allow me to create a copy of your site and your content. Once the problem is resolved I will delete the local site. Let me know if this is ok with you. IMPORTANT Looking forward to your response. Best Regards, |
