This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client needs to migrate 145 Arabic translations of blog posts and link them to the corresponding English posts on a newly developed website. The client tried following tutorials and videos but faced many complications.
Solution:
We recommend the following steps to simplify the migration process:
1. Backup your site or save an XML copy of the posts.
2. Delete the English posts and categories from the new site, as the content was imported independently, which might have broken the language connections.
3. Ensure the WPML Import/Export plugin is installed on the old site.
4. Export all posts from the old site.
5. Import all posts into the new site.
6. Run the WPML import/export settings to establish the correct language connections.<br If this solution does not resolve your issue or seems outdated, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Background of the issue:
I have an old website built over 5 years ago with 145 blog posts in English and their translations in Arabic. I have designed and developed a new website and successfully migrated the English blog posts with all categories. I have also translated all the categories on the new site. Now, I need to migrate the 145 Arabic translations of my blog posts and link them to the corresponding English posts on my new website.

Symptoms:
I tried to follow all the possible tutorials or videos but without luck. Too many complications.

Questions:
What is the best and most straightforward approach to migrate the Arabic translations of my blog posts and link them to the English posts on my new website?

Hi,

I’ll be assisting you further with this issue.

After reviewing the previous conversation, I’m unclear on one point: how did you import the English content to the new site? Did you use the WordPress import/export feature without enabling the WPML import/export plugin?

Since the English content has already been imported but the Arabic content hasn’t, here’s my suggestion to simplify the process:

- Backup your site or save an XML copy of the posts.

- Delete the English posts and categories from the new site.
It appears that the content was imported independently, which might have broken the language connections, making it difficult to link translations in the current state.

- Export all posts from the old site. Be sure to install the WPML Import/Export plugin before doing this.

- Import all posts into the new site.

- Finally, run the WPML import/export settings.

I’ve created a demo video showing these steps on my test site, where I deleted and re-imported the content for reference. hidden link

Let me know if this helps!

Thanks!
