[Resolved] Message «You are trying to edit a translation that is currently...»
This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: The client is encountering a message on some pages indicating that something might be broken when in fact they are just working on their pages. Solution: We explained that the eye icon means the content has been translated and is awaiting review. We advised the client to review the translation first and make any necessary corrections. For guidance on reviewing translations, we provided a link to our documentation: How to review automatic translations on your site, and for understanding different icons: Translation Icons.
We also acknowledged that the message is a false-positive and provided a temporary workaround until a permanent fix is released in future versions of WPML:
We reminded the client to back up their site before making any changes and offered further assistance if needed.
Please note that this solution might be irrelevant due to being outdated or not applicable to your case. We highly recommend checking related known issues at WPML Known Issues, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If the issue persists, please open a new support ticket with us: WPML Support Forum.
This is the technical support forum for WPML - the multilingual WordPress plugin.

Hi, i / my client gets that message on some pages. We dont know why this happens and how we can solve this problem. Its just that they always thing something is broken and basically its just they are working on their pages. How is this happening and how can it be prevented?
I understand that you may have some questions regarding the icons that you see while using WPML. To clarify, the eye icon signifies that the content has been translated and is awaiting review. Please review the translation first. Them you can make any necessary corrections.
Hi Andrey, we dont use any automatic translations (link 1). I would like to know how this appears withous using any automatic translation on a lot of english pages out of nothing. Thank you so much for your help!
Thank you, Pascal. I need to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site – preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated if possible – in order to be of better help. You will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply. The information you will enter is private which means only you and I can see and have access to it.
Yes, it is possible to cancel those jobs in WPML → Translation Jobs → Jobs by selecting an entry and choosing the action in the dropdown. As far as I can see, many of them have the "Completed - Needs update" status.
I have looked at the backend but haven't found anything suspicious. Could you please point me to such a page as an example? Or give instructions on where to look.
Thank you for the update. I've reviewed the issue you reported and noticed that the page was translated without using the translation editor, as the WordPress editor is active. I can access the translation without any issues. Please clarify what I am missing.
Hmm, the thing is many pages have this message from time to time:
[Waiting for user confirmation] Message «You are trying to edit a translation that is currently...»
Why is this happening with my setting? Yes we use the WordPress Editor we dont need thetranslation editor.

I can think of a few things. Someone is editing the same page through the WordPress editor, or the page was sent for translation and is waiting for review.
Can you show an example where I can see this message?
Thank you for letting me know, Pascal. I have noticed the message you mentioned.
For example, the page "Veranstaltungen" seems to have been translated using the WPML translation editor and then finished with the native WordPress editor.
To remove the message, you must cancel the page translation from the WPML → Translation Management → Job tab. Since you are an admin and the page has been assigned to you as a translator, you should be able to cancel it. Once you do so, the message should be gone. You need to do this for other pages as well.
