This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client is experiencing issues with missing 'edit translation' options on some pages, which prevents linking translations between languages and forces manual content translation, losing the connection with the original translation.
Solution:
1. We recommend editing the page in the default language.
2. In the sidebar, look for the option to change to "WPML Translation Editor" and click on it.
3. In the popup that appears, select "All pages" to revert all pages to the Advanced Translation Editor (ATE).
4. Remember that once a page is translated via ATE, it's better not to edit the translation directly.

We have translated different pages from english to other languages automatically.

In some of them we have the "edit translation" on the top bar and also when we try to edit the page. To link translations between languages.

But in some of them this option is missing, forcing us to translate manually the content direct on the page and losing the connection with the original translation.

How can we solve this?

Hello,

thanks for reaching out to us. It seems to me that you are mixing the usage of ATE (Advanced Translation Editor) and the WordPress editor. The expected behavior here, when using automatic translation, is to have everything translated on ATE. To edit translations using ATE either going to the "Pages" tab and clicking on the pencil/gear icon for each language, or by clicking on edit translation on the page of the translated content.

In your case, take one page that's not having the expected behavior and edit on the default language. On the sidebar, you'll see the option to change it to "WPML Translation Editor". Click on it. On the pop up, select "All pages". This should revert all pages to ATE.

It's important to note that, once the page is translated via ATE, it's better not to edit the translation directly. Please share your results.

Best regards,
Lucas Vidal
