Background of the issue:
I am trying to translate my website automatically using WPML. The issue can be seen on this page: hidden link
Symptoms:
Some phrases are not being automatically translated. Specifically, policy 7.1 was not translated automatically. I had to manually edit the translation, search for the text, and then add the translation manually, even though I have enough credits for automatic translation.
Questions:
Why was policy 7.1 not automatically translated?
How can I ensure all text is identified and translated automatically?
I wonder if the issue happened only in Armenian or also Polish language? I ask about that as the screenshot is in Armenian but the Front end screenshot is in Polish.
Also if it is only one paragraph you can go to the aTE and at the top click the translate automatically and it should do the trick for you.
If it is another point that I missed I'd appreciate it i you could give more detailed information.
Hi, for this post it was happening for both languages.
I cannot really use the option at the top to translate everything, since it's said by the plugin that it is already 100% translated, I have to manually search for this paragraph, find it and then click to translate that one paragraph and do the same for all paragraphs missing translations.
Not only that i also have to go page by page, post by post, checking if there is any missing translations because the plugin says that it is 100% translated when it is not, these are the problems we are facing at the moment.
Thank you for the details, It is better to check first with a page and see why this is happening.
It might be the fact that the original version of the page is changed somehow but the system did not detect either because the do not update checkbox is selected while doing a change or there is a programmatically change happened but I am not sure.
I need to know if you are the only one that do the changes and if you aware of other person that might have changed the original language?
The best way is to do as follows to check:
- Go to your Dashboard > Pages.
- Open the edit screen of the original page. You should see a pencil/circle/gear icon in the sidebar options under the "Languages" section.
- Make a small change, for example, add an extra blank space at the end of a sentence/paragraph.
- Save it.
- You should now see that a circular arrow appears beside the 2nd languages links, this means that an update is required.
- Edit the translation again and save it up to 100% translated.
I also can check whatever page you say to see what can I find.
I'd appreciate it if you could give me the URL/User/Pass of your WordPress dashboard after you make sure that you have a backup of your website.
It is absolutely important that you give us a guarantee that you have a backup so if something happens you will have a point of restore.
I tried to access the /wp-admin link after adding the user/pass for the server protection but it gave me a not found error.
So maybe the wp-admin link is not correct and you have other method to login?
But anyways as you do not have a scenario that I can check for now even if I have a login will not help.
Please monitor the situation and let's keep the ticket open. As soon as something with the same characteristics happen, get back to us and we will investigate.
