I am trying to:

I did a basic setup of bbpress and WPML and i need topics to be translatable.
But when opening the archive pages of de and es translations there are no topics.

Link to a page where the issue can be seen:
forza-bvb.de/de/topics

I expected to see:
an overview of the topics submitted so far

Instead, I got:
the message, no topics submitted yet but i did translate them already

I had to change this now, actually Topics in the topic archive are not found if they have a parent forum. i was switching that around sometimes and they appear (without forum as parent) and disappear(with forum as parent)

Hi there,

When reviewing the link shared with us above I do see the topics, is that because you removed the parent forum?

If possible share additional information with me so we can attempt to reproduce this behavior.

Sorry, it was custom coding, changed it back to the default template. In englisch you see 4 Topics, in German only 1, the one that has no parent forum.

Thank you, I can see now.

I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to test the issue.
(preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated if possible)

**Before we proceed It is necessary to take FULL BACKUP of your database and your website. Providing us with access, you agree that a backup has been taken **

I often use the Duplicator plugin for this purpose: http://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicator/
You will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply.
The information you enter is private which means only you and I have access to it.

NOTE: If access to the live site is not possible and the staging site does not exist please provide me with a duplicator package created with the duplicator plugin.

Thank you,
Bobby

Thank you for the access details!

I was able to see the issue and did some further research regarding the topic of translation.

Unfortunately, WPML does not support translating bbpress topics at the moment.

I read that article but it is not really about translating topics. Even if i start a Topic in a non default language it is not displayed on the topic archiv if it has a parent forum.
Any hint where i have to start working to achieve that?

Thank you, I was able to reproduce this behavior on a sandbox as well.

I am currently discussing this with our team and will update you once there is news.

Quick update: From what I have gathered at the moment this is happening because the topics are set to "translatable". The topics should be set to "not translatable" by default which is the expected choice.

Please go to WPML->Settings->Taxonomies Translation->Topics and set it to "Not translatable"

In this case it shows Topics of all languages in each archiv for each language.
I guess i just have to write some custom solution for it.

As of right now and based on my teams feedback, the expected workflow would be to have 1 topic that would be applied to all languages as the topics cannot be translated

The topic ‘[Closed] Topic Archive page of translated sites donw show any topic’ is closed to new replies.
