Background of the issue:
I am trying to translate the starting page of my website from English to Swedish using WPML. The issue can be seen on this page: hidden link.
Symptoms:
The translation of the starting page is not working. Despite several attempts over weeks, nothing is changing.
Questions:
Why is the translation of the starting page not working?
What steps can I take to successfully translate the page?
We hope you are using the WPML Advanced Translation Editor to translate the page. For a better understanding of the issue, please share a couple of screenshots or a short screencast (you can share it via Google Drive or Dropbox).
Thank you for the updates. Please create a simple test post and send it for translation, just like you did with the Homepage. Then go to WPML >> Translations and check if you can translate it as expected. This will help us track the issue.
If the problem continues, please go to WPML >> Support >> Advanced Translation Editor >> Error Logs and check if there are any recent errors listed.
I have now created a new post and successfully translated it to Swedish. (See screenshot). In the screenshot you can also see "home page" that is still in progress.
In the second screenshot, you can see the error codes. I have attached the extra data for the codes below:
Thank you for the updates. Please try the following steps after taking a full site backup, and let us know your feedback:
1) Go to WPML >> Translation Management >> Translation Jobs
2) Delete the translation job for the homepage
3) Navigate to Pages >> All Pages
4) Open the homepage in the original language for editing
5) Make a small change in the contents to refresh the translation settings
6) Save the changes
7) Go to WPML >> Translation Management Dashboard
8) Send the homepage for translation again
9) Log in as the translator
10) Go to WPML >> Translations and translate the homepage into the secondary languages
