This is the technical support forum for WPML - the multilingual WordPress plugin.
Everyone can read, but only WPML clients can post here. WPML team is replying on the forum 6 days per week, 22 hours per day.
Our wait time is higher than usual, please make sure you are meeting the minimum requirement - https://wpml.org/home/minimum-requirements before you report issues, and if you can take a look at current Known Issues - https://wpml.org/known-issues/. Thank you.
Background of the issue:
I have updated to the latest version of WPML. I am trying to refresh pages on my site, hidden link, to ensure translations are complete.
Symptoms:
When I refresh pages, the system seems to be charging additional credits even though the pages appear identical. The Italian and English versions look complete, but when I review the Dutch page, the system charges credits.
Questions:
Why is the system charging additional credits when the pages seem identical?
How can I prevent WPML from charging credits for pages that appear complete?
It just feels since I moved to the latest version that when I am reviewing translations etc in some cases it seems to be charging me additional credits so the Dutch page above was an example , when I compare the Dutch and English version they look identical yet when I GOTO refresh review the Dutch article it charges more credits...... can u check please.
Thank you for the updates. I will check with our team tomorrow and update you. It would be great if you could share the post URLs, so we can check them better.
okay so if it is "translating" why do I have the Italian version already..?
I have not made any changes recently.
I keep thinking it is related to the upgrade to latest version
As I encountered the same issue with many pages since I completed the upgrade on Saturday/Friday as you suggested.
I was just wishing to get everything completed so I can get the transfer to new site completed as per your instructions. So I was just accepted all these extra credit charges, until I investigated further.
We could test by completing the credit charges and see if the Italian page has changed?
Our team is still working on this issue. We are not able to reproduce the issue exactly in our test installations. Hope you have clicked the *Save Translation* button before refreshing the Advanced Translation Editor screen (I mean while reviewing the translation and making changes in the translated contents). Refer to the sample screenshot for more details.
So one request: Can you please share a screencast (a screen capture of the steps you are following to review)? It will help us a lot in tracking this. You can share the screencast via Google Drive or Dropbox.
Please feel free to move the site to a new server. It will not affect the translation because the domain URL is the same. But take full site backup {mandatory} before the migration.
