Background of the issue:
I am developing a site with Norsk Bokmål (Norwegian) as the default language and need to use automatic translation for Swedish, Danish, and Finnish.
Symptoms:
The slider for automatic translation is deactivated with the error message: 'Your default language, Norsk, must be mapped to a supported language in order to use automatic translation.'
Questions:
How can I map Norsk Bokmål to a supported language for automatic translation?
Why is there no option to map languages in the languages menu?
Welcome to WPML support. Upon checking the website in WPML > Support > Advancde Translation Editor > Error Log we found out that there is an Authentication error.
Please do as follows:
- Make sure that you are logged in wpml.org.
- Go to "WordPress Dashboard > Plugins > Add New > Commercial (Tab)".
- Click the unregister linkg to unregister WPML
- Click the "Register WPML" at the right section of the screen.
- Click the "Get a key for this site" link annotated in the screenshot below.
- A new page will open up and the auto-generated key will show in pop-up.
- Copy the key and paste it into the "Site Key" input box annotated in the screenshot below.
- Click the "OK" button.
I did this, but the same key showed up and there is no change in the Edit Languages tab allowing me to map a language... so no improvement unfortunately
Thank you. The temproary login that you gave me is not working anymore, WOuld you please select the private message checkbox and add a permanent login so we can follow up?
