I am trying to: We are trying to translate this page however the text in the wmpl translation does not match the text in the article instead it is from the text of a completely different article.
Link to a page where the issue can be seen: hidden link
I expected to see:We should see the text of the article we are translating when doing the one to one translations. I have attached an image of what text WMPL translator is showing us vs what text we should be seeing.
Instead, I got: We got text from a completely different article namely this one hidden link
I will add the first reply before this ticket is assigned to one of my colleagues.
Would you please kindly follow the steps below to provide the debug information?
- Go to "WordPress Dashboard > WPML > Support > Debug Information (Link)".
- Copy the Debug Information from there.
- Get back to this chat screen and scroll down.
- Find the "Additional Data" section below. (Check the screenshot below)
- Click on the "Debug Info" item to expand it.
- Paste the debug information into the text area.
- Click the "Send Debug Info" button.
- Go to your Dashboard > Pages.
- Open the edit screen of the original page. You should see a pencil/circle/gear icon in the sidebar options under the "Languages" section.
- Make a small change, for example, add an extra blank space at the end of a sentence/paragraph.
- Save it.
- You should now see that a circular arrow appears beside the 2nd languages links, this means that an update is required.
- Edit the translation again and save it up to 100% translated.
Hello, I have provided the debug information here, and I have tried the solutions you proposed however none of the worked. please help us fix this issue as soon as possible.
I'm Osama from WPML forums support. I'll be glad to help you today.
I would need to look closely at your site, so I would need to request temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) Preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated.
Your answer will be private, meaning only you and I can access it.
❌ Please backup your database and website ❌
✙ I would need your permission to de-activate and re-activate the Plugins and the Theme and change configurations on the site. This is also a reason the backup is critical.
✙ I also need your permission to take a local copy of your site to debug the issue without affecting your live site.
We can not give you a local copy however, we will back up the website today and check if the bug reappears in the backup. we can give you access to that back up to make changes. for this I will need your IP address and Email to give you access.
