This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
You are trying to remove the 'en' prefix from the URL for original pages in English, aiming for URLs like draft.usponsorme.com instead of draft.usponsorme.com/en.
Solution:
This issue typically occurs if the 'use directory for default language' option is active. We recommend checking this setting by navigating to the WPML settings area. If this option is enabled and you do not require it, please disable it. For detailed guidance, refer to our forum discussion here: https://wpml.org/forums/topic/directory-for-the-default-language/

If this solution does not resolve your issue or seems outdated, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Should you need further assistance, please open a new support ticket at WPML support forum.

Background of the issue:
I am trying to remove the prefix 'en' from the URL for original pages. My original pages are in English. Instead of draft.usponsorme.com/en, I would like draft.usponsorme.com.

Symptoms:
I have not found any documentation.

Questions:
How can I remove the prefix 'en' from the URL for original pages?

Hi there.

This should happen usually only if you have the "use directory for default language" active as explained by my colleague here:
https://wpml.org/forums/topic/directory-for-the-default-language/

So can you please go to that Settings area and see if you have that option active, and disable it if you don't need it?

Please let me know how that goes and if this is what you were looking for to accomplish.
