Background of the issue:
I am trying to save my button links within the ATE. The issue can be seen on this page: hidden link
Symptoms:
I expected the button link URL translation to stick, but instead, I got a blank space upon returning into the ATE and a 92% translation status instead of 100%.
Questions:
Why are my button links not saving in the ATE?
How can I achieve a 100% translation status?
I save the two button URLs with ATE, but despite everything else already been translated, I can never reach the 100% mark. Although it never goes above 93%, I click on the Complete Translation button at the bottom of the ATE, it does save it all and exits the ATE. But, if I go back into the ATE, I have to start over, as the URL translated segments are blank again, and the page stuck at 92%.
Indeed, I can see the issue. The translation does only complete to 93% as if there was somewhere a hidden segment that is not able to be marked as completed.
Clearing the WPML Cache inside the troubleshooting options solved it.
Then I edited the original "Google Reviews" page, translated it again and it worked.
I am not sure how we can trigger this issue to occur again.
I will try to create a copy of the site using "All In One WP Migration" and see if the issue occurs again after I have launched the site on localhost.
Once I am done with this task I will contact you again.
I see now, that even after fixing the cache issue and opening the translation editor again, one button link is not remaining saved. In this case it is the one linking to a PDF file.
I see the ATE Dev Team has been working on fixes for Button Links not getting saved as expected on the latest version of the Advanced Translation Editor.
This should get fixed in a upcoming update for the Advanced Translation Editor.
It might still take a few weeks until this update is ready, as it will involve many fixes and enhancements.
I would suggest we wait for this update and should this not solve all the issues, we would need to investigate further.
WORKAROUND:
I would suggest for now, you open the settings inside ATE and enable the option "Use the previous version of the Advanced Translation Editor".
