I have successfully translated my website. However, my search form does not work as expected with the English/WPML website. Could you help me fix this issue? Solution: https://wpml.org/errata/realhomes-theme-search-filters-do-not-return-any-result/ |

I ran the import and then had to run a script, it seems something in the import removed WPML capabilities. Once I got it running, I duplicated properties and pages, and set taxonomies to Translatable or Fallback to default. With these settings, I was able to search properties on the translated homepage and got results. hidden link Please log in to this site using the link below and compare the settings here to your live site, and perhaps we can find something different that is causing the issue on your site. hidden link |

Hi Lauren, Thank you for testing and getting back to me. I have compared the settings, and nothing seems different apart from the fact that your test site uses 'language per directory' and my website uses 'language per domain'. Can we test it that way? By the way, I have changed the home page search form to sort of more match my website (so it opens another page for search results, instead of a dynamic search). Best regards, |

I do not have a way to test different domains on our sandbox install, unfortunately. Please temporarily switch your site to languages in directories to see if that changes things on your site, or test in a staging environment if you can set one up with different domains. Also, check what settings you have for passing arguments in the WPML -> Languages -> URL Format different domains per language settings. You might try changing the options there, clearing the cache, and then see if it works. Please let me know the results. |

Hi Lauren, Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately, changing the passing arguments settings did nothing. Is there anything else we can try? Best regards, |

Please let me know the results of testing your site with different languages in directories, so we can determine if the issue is isolated to the different domains per language set up. |

Can I switch my website to 'language in directory' and back to 'language per domain' without any problems that will occur or re-setting up things? |

Yes, you can switch it to and from different URL formats and switch it back. The only thing you should need to do is resave permalinks in General Settings. However, we do always recommend a full backup. You may also want to set your site to not be indexed while you make the change. This setting is also in general settings. |

Hi Lauren, Thank you for your reply. I have tested it with the different structure, but unfortunately I still see that it does not work properly. Is there anything else we could try? Thanks, |

I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to take better look at the issue. You will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply. The information you will enter is private which means only you and I can see and have access to it. Our Debugging Procedures I will be checking various settings in the backend to see if the issue can be resolved. Although I won't be making changes that affect the live site, it is still good practice to backup the site before providing us access. In the event that we do need to debug the site further, I will duplicate the site and work in a separate, local development environment to avoid affecting the live site. Privacy and Security Policy We have strict policies regarding privacy and access to your information. Please see: **IMPORTANT** - Please make a backup of site files and database before providing us access. - If you do not see the wp-admin/FTP fields this means your post & website login details will be made PUBLIC. DO NOT post your website details unless you see the required wp-admin/FTP fields. If you do not, please ask me to enable the private box. The private box looks like this: hidden link |

THank you. I found that when you edit the homepage in Netherlands, there is an option to select which page to go to for the search results. That page was set as the homepage in the English page. I manually edited the page in English and set the Properties page as the search result page and now it works as expected. Please let me know if you need any further assistance and I will be happy to help. |
