Kindly ask your question here after you finish translating the pages in Turkmen.

Thanks.

Hello.
Just now, during the translation of pages, strange symbols (krakozyabry) suddenly appeared on the site page, please help to figure out what this may be connected with.
I can't figure out why this happened, I didn't do anything wrong.

Hi there,

This seems to be an issue with your WordPress database collation.

The correct database collation in WordPress to handle Cyrillic characters is typically "utf8mb4_unicode_ci" or "utf8mb4_general_ci".

These collations support a wide range of characters, including Cyrillic characters, and ensure proper sorting and comparison of data in the database.

To set the correct database collation in WordPress, you can follow these steps:

- Access your WordPress site's database using a tool like phpMyAdmin or through the command line.

- Locate the database where your WordPress installation is stored.

- Check the collation of the tables within the database. The tables should be using a collation that includes "utf8mb4".

- If the collation is not set to "utf8mb4_unicode_ci" or "utf8mb4_general_ci", you can change it by selecting the tables and using the "Change collation" option to set it to the appropriate collation.

It's important to note that changing the database collation should be done carefully and preferably with a backup of your database.

Thanks.

I did a site data backup.

On these links you can see what the problem was when I wrote the letter.

How can I make sure this problem doesn't happen again? Can you help me look at my site to see if there are any database matching issues at the moment?

Hi there,

The issue should be fixed when you change the collation of your database as mentioned in the previous reply.

You will need to create a backup of the database and give me access to the database of the website (not the dashboard) to be able to change the collation.

The best way is that you contact your hosting service provider and ask them to do that for you.

If you have access to the database information you can share it in the next reply by making the next reply private.

I will assume that you have. backup of the database. It is super important as changing anything in the database is something that needs a complete backup to be on the safe side.

Thank you.

Hi there,

Please kindly consider that we answer one question per ticket. So for the other question which I read and is not related to the wrong characters issue I will split this ticket as a new one.

But if you have other questions kindly open up a separate ticket or chat in the forum.

As I explained int he previous reply the WP Admin dashboard login does not do anything as I will need to have access to your website database.

If you do not know how to find it please contact your hosting service provider.

Please give my answer about database colation to them and they will know where to change.

Thanks.

I gave you the login details for Plesk, this is the server control panel. After entering the menu, you will see the Database, PHPMYADMIN will also be there. From there you can make changes to the database, please try it.

No, this issue has already been resolved after I restored the site and database data yesterday. After that, I asked you to find the cause of this problem if possible. Because this sometimes happens for unknown reasons, and therefore I asked you if you can somehow find a solution to why this sometimes happens.
