we are using GiveWP as a plugin for donations and, although we can translate our forms correctly with WPML, the original version and the translated version do have two different ids (which splits the total amount received through the same form).
It would be awesome if you could add a feature similar to WooCommerce Multilingual extension for GiveWP, in order to keep the same id for all translations and consider them the same (with all their aggregated data).
Can you please confirm you have followed the docs on how to translate GiveWP and WPML?

As for the feature request, I am not sure if that is expected or not, if yes I suspect probably would need a bit more work from the plugin author and our side.
I do not want this to come as we are sending you away, but if you haven't not can you please first check with GiveWP and suggest this also to them, as I am sure they will be more aware if this is expected or can be achieved with their current plugin structure.
I will leave this ticket open and you can come back with feedback and if there is anything we can do to help, we will be glad 🙂
Yeah, I followed the steps and also opened a ticket to them; so that's why I decided to contact you as well.
We can translate everything fine, so there's no big issue at the moment. But I would be much helpful if we could keep the same ID form in both languages, the same way it does with WooCommerce products (so we see the same data in both).
So yes, it would be just a bit more work for both sides I guess, as right now everything works at 99%.
Looking over this thread, and checked the documentation linked to above for GiveWP with WPML, and it seems like they describe the scenario you are asking about already, if I'm not mistaken.
specifically:
>>the way WPML creates translations of forms is that it creates individual forms for each language. That means that in order to get a correct count for things like number of donors or total donation amount to a specific cause, you’ll need to combine all languages. The Multi-Form Goal block and Multi-Form Goal shortcode are perfect for this use.

So it sounds like they are already aware of what you are describing, and propose a solution (or, at least, a workaround) for it.
We don't maintain a glue plugin for GiveWP (as we do for Gravity Forms, for example), the existing WPML integration is managed by them, and if this needs modifying it would likely also need to be by them.
We can, of course, cooperate with them, but that would likely be if they were working on some other solution and needed input from ourselves, in which case they would contact our compatibility team as usual.
I don't mean to dismiss your request, but I don't think there is much for us to do here in support relating to this, any changes would likely need to be initiated by GiveWP (and we would be ready to cooperate), so I suggest we close here.
So I don't think there is much for us to do here in support relating to this
Yes, they do have the workaround mentioned above; and that's why, for now, it's not a big issue. That should be enough for us, but obviously is not the ideal solution.
As I said before, I first ask for this feature to them; but, being a cooperation with you, they recommended me to also ask you for this... so both sides are aware of it 🙂
So thanks a lot, hope we have this new feature in the near future!
