This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client is experiencing issues with links not correctly translating to the appropriate language versions on their multilingual site. Some links in languages other than German revert to the German version. The client has attempted to fix this using the advanced translation editor but was unable to find the links there.
Solution:
We noticed that the client's website does not meet the minimum memory requirements for WPML to function properly. We recommend increasing the WordPress memory limit to at least 128MB, with 256MB being preferable. To do this, add the following code to the

wp-config.php

file:

define( 'WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '256M' );<br />define( 'WP_MAX_MEMORY_LIMIT', '512M' );

For more details on how to increase memory allocated to PHP, visit https://wordpress.org/support/article/editing-wp-config-php/#increasing-memory-allocated-to-php. After increasing the memory limit, retranslate the links and check if the issue is resolved.

Please note that this solution might be outdated or not applicable to your case. If the problem persists, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Hello. I want to change my links, so that every link work correctly and links to the right language. Right now the german version works correctly, but in other languages the links keep changing to the german version. But I have to note that not all of them are false. There are only some. I have tried to change them with the advanced translation editor, but I cant find the links there. I dont know what to to. I have read so many threads and forums and nothing seems to work.

Hello,

Thank you for sharing the information. I checked your debug info and noticed that your website doesn't have the minimum memory required for WPML to work. WPML requires a memory limit of at least 128MB while 256MB is recommended. See https://wpml.org/home/minimum-requirements/ for detailed information. You can set WP Memory Limit in your wp-config.php file by adding following code:

define( 'WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '256M' );
define( 'WP_MAX_MEMORY_LIMIT', '512M' );

See:

https://wordpress.org/support/article/editing-wp-config-php/#increasing-memory-allocated-to-php

for details. Increasing WP Memory may help improve the performance and sometimes also help resolving such issues.

Please upgrade your memory, retranslate your links and see if that works. Let me know how it goes.

Thank you for sharing. Even if it doesn't solve the issue, it's important to have the minimum memory so WPML has everything it needs to function properly.

Can you please provide me with a concrete example where this issue happens? Please also share the exact steps you took to translate this problematic links. Screenshots are always helpful 🙂

Also, make sure that you are translating these links using only one method (sometimes this problem is caused because users translate their content using the translation editor and then edit the translation manually, in the page editor/builder).

This way I can better understand what's going on and get to a solution quicker.
