This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client needed to change the formality (default, formal, informal) of the language for two languages on their site and was unsure how to apply these changes to already translated pages using the WPML and DeepL auto translation feature.
Solution:
We advised the client that to apply new formality settings to already translated content, they must manually re-translate these pages. This can be done by navigating to WPML > Translation Management and selecting the option to overwrite existing translations. It is important to ensure that there are sufficient credits and that the pages are fully translated before attempting to overwrite them. .<br

Background of the issue:
We have successfully configured and used the auto translation feature with DeepL on our site hidden link. We want to change the formality (default, formal, informal) of the language for 2 languages.

Symptoms:
We can't find in documentation what is needed to do after changing the formality of some language.

Questions:
Will auto translations of already translated pages run again automatically once we change the formality?
Do we need to go to all pages and sections and 'send' them to redo the translation?
Should we remove the language and add it again?

Hello,

you will need to re-translate pages for new settings/translation to be applied.

You can do that from WPML > Translation management and choose to overwrite existing translations.

Hello.

Thank you for your answer.

We don't see that option to "overwrite".
Or the option only appear after we change the settings?

Thank you.

Hello,

no, the option should be there. Make sure you have credits and that the page is completed, otherwise, there is nothing to be overwritten.

Ok. Got it. I didn't understood I had to select the items.

Just to be clear, if we want to overwrite ALL translations previously made, we have to select ALL the items, is that right?

Isn't there a feature that we would do like: "overwrite ALL translations" or "redo ALL translatios"?

Thank you.

Hello,

yes, that is correct, you need to select which pages and translations you wish to overwrite.
