[Resolved] Updating the default language make texts to go back to not be translated
This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: The client makes a change in the original content and when opening the Advanced Translation Editor the content for that segment is empty.
Solution:
This is expected if you don't have automatic translation enabled.
When automatic translation is enabled, any change made to the original content is automatically populated in the editor.

Sorry forgot one big issue which is very frustrating. If I change something in the main language (Swedish) and shall update the other languages a lot of the text has gone back to not be translated so I need to do it again (ok I have learned now so I open the page in for instance English and then copy past back the text) and can't spend all this time to do this. So as you understand a lot of issues so maybe it has to do with Directory plugin? But it's both of listings and on pages made in Elementor.
Hi,
You had set up a sandbox page for me hidden link for another ticket. So I tried to make a page here "Amorgos" and the same issue happens here if I update the default language Swedish then when I open the English translation the text where I made the changes has disappeared, see attach screen print.
I apologize for the delay in answering. I will take care of this ticket and the reply time will be shorter now.
Thanks for configuring the sandbox site. I completed the setup enabling automatic translation (with a dummy engine, so it returns fake translations). After that I did the following:
- Completed the translation of the Amorgos page
- Edited the original page
- The translated content remained
- Updated the translation and updated the original content again
- The translated content remains
So, the issue seems to happen when automatic translation is not enabled. This is expected. If you are manually translating a text and the text changes, when you open the editor you'll need to update it. If you have automatic translation enabled, when you open the Editor, the machine translation populates the updated fields for you.
Check it again now that I enabled automatic translation for the sandbox, and you'll see the behaviour you are expecting.
