Background of the issue:
I am developing a site and would like to upload custom .mo files for plugins and the theme.

Symptoms:
No specific issue or error message mentioned.

Questions:
Where should I upload my custom .mo files for plugins and the theme?
How do I test the custom .mo files after uploading them?

for example, my theme file translation is yootheme-ga_IE.mo.

ga_IE is for Gaeile the Irish language, I will need to replace a few of these as I don't want to use string translations unless I have to.

Thank you for contacting WPML support. While you are waiting for one of my colleagues to take this ticket and work on it, let me provide you with first debugging steps or if I can perhaps help with the issue quickly.

Usually, mo files should go inside a language folder, under the main folder of the theme or plugin. Please check our documentation on that subject:
https://wpml.org/documentation/support/achieving-wpml-compatibility-for-your-themes-and-plugins/#6-1-adding-your-plugins-translations

If that does not help, one of my colleagues will soon come to continue support.
