Hi ozge, we don’t have a demo version but you can buy and if WPML doesn’t fit your needs, we will give your money back: http://wpml.org/purchase/refunds-policy/
Please note that you can use one WPML license for all your sites you are building so even if it is not fully compatible with one theme, you can use different ones.
Here is a list of all themes compatible with WPML:
Hi Quentin,
thanks for you questions. WPML doesn’t translate your content automatically. Google and other search engines don’t like automatic translations.
You have two options:
1. you provide the translations yourself
2. you use our ICanLocalize service with professional translators (it is integrated with WPML but its paid)
Hi,
We are software resellers in Mexico, mainly focused on the academic market. At the momento we have a customer (university) interested in a license of WordPress Multilingual Plugin. Is it posible for us to buy the license and get the invoice but have the license registered to the university?
Best regards,
Hi Adriana,
in theory the person/company who purchased the licence is the license’s owner. You, as the developer can buy only one WPML license and use it for all the sites you are building for different customers. So your customers don’t have to buy WPML to use it legally on their sites. There is however only one email account associated with WPML license. It’s up to you which email you want to associate it with: yours or the university. You will use this email to login to the WPML account, to get future updates and ask questions in our support forum.
Hi Agnes,
Thank you for your reply.
We would prefer to associate the account to the university’s email, but this way they will get the invoice/receipt, right? What exactly do you receive when purchasing WPML? Is it a serial number or key code that we could just pass on to the university?
Or, is it possible for us to make the purchase with our email (and all other information) and then ask you to modify the account and have it registered to the university?
Best regards,
I have purchased WPML a while ago. I want to renew it. On this page: http://wpml.org/purchase/ it says renewal costs $39, but in my account it says I should buy the plugin again (cost of $79 dollar).
Hi Sandra, thanks for purchasing WPML. You have a whole year to renew it and if you do this before your current license expires you should be able to do this at a reduced price (as you expect). Let me check with our developers why you cannot see the discount.
OK, I checked it with our developers and purchasing WPML at the reduced price (when renewing) will be active 30 days before your current subscription expires. You will get a notification email not to forget.
I have ordered the lifetime licence with my email adress provided for this form on September 2h, 2014 and I am unable to login now. I get a “No such email / username registered error”. I am not able to reset my password too. Order ID: [edited]. Could you help me out?
Hi Michael,
we checked it and you bouught the WPML with the email you posted this comment with. You should be able to reset the password with this link:
I would like to get WPML CMS to try out. If it is really good, can I upgrade to Lifetime version by topping up the difference? If possible, whats the window period to do this upgrade?
You can start from CMS version and if you like it you can upgrade to Lifetime and if you do this before your CMS subscription expires you will pay the difference only.
Thanks for your response, good to know it is possible. However, now after going through the documentation, I wonder if my wordpress theme is compatible as it is not on your list. I am using Vantage and Directory, from Appthemes.com
I run a web studio and would like to have a version of wpml that I could use for all my clients. Would the Multilingual CMS lifetime version provide this possibility? Thank you!
Your theme is not listed here so it means that is hasn’t been tested for compatibility in our team.
About currencies. Do you plan to build a multilingual online store? If so, could you ask your question again providing me with more details. What exactly do you mean by ‘will the currency automatic also work’? I will be happy to help.
and I plan to add 5 other languages to it, will I have to change my english pages to /en directory?
I am a little concerned about the SEO of current english site, if i change to /en. And also SEO for other pages, can we easily optimize seo for each language?
Hi Jonh,
the sub-directories for each lanague version will be added automatically when you define a new language with WPML. Please note that WPML doesn’y trasnlate your contents automatically. You provide the translations or you can use the professional translation services integrated with WPML.
WPML works great with the famous SEO by Yoast plugin. You can easily optimize it for SEO purposes.
So, my current english site has no /en directory, so you think I will have to change my pages to /en directory? I think that will effect my current SEO position if I change to /en.
You can set English as your site’s primary language (after installing WPML) so the permalinks for your current content won’t change and subdirectories will be created only for all new languages.
I run IT company and I wonder about buying you app, but I need to know if that “sites: unlimited” is about my sites or can I make unlimited amount of sites for my clients using your app? Because this is huge difference.
Hi Raf, yes, you are right: you buy only one WPML license and you can use our WPML plugins for all the sites you are building (for yourself or/and for your customers).
Hi, I am in the process of upgrading my license. I am asked to input the VAT code which is fine, my company is VAT registered in Denmark (Europe). My question is what format should I use? The Danish VAT no. is 8 numerical digits, eg. 12345678, but some international sites require to add the two character country code in front, in this case I should input: DK12345678. How is your system set up? Thanks in advance for the clarification 🙂
Hi Vitaio,
If you are a business, registered in the EU and have a VAT number you are obliged by the European law to provide us with your correct data.
More information here: http://wpml.org/2015/01/vat-eu/
I want to purchase this plugin, but i need to know first is that will this plugin help me to translate the custom post type also, because i have customized structure. Please check the website link and respond asap.
Hi Agnes, I have a few questions that I would need your assistance with.
1/ WPML is compatible with Canvas theme so de facto does it mean it is compatible also with fashionable template?
2/ Is everything “translatable?” ? I mean menu, widgets, billing info, etc
3/ With WPML, when a client connects to my website from lets say Italy, and having it already in Italian, will it automatically set up the Italian version?
4/ are Chinese, Hongkongese both simplified and traditional style allowed with WPML?
1. What do you mean by ‘fashionable template’? Is this a part of this theme?
2. Yes, if a theme is marked as WPML compatible everything should be translatable. But usually menu and widgets can be translated even if a theme is not WPML compatible.
3. WPML has an option (disabled by default) to redirect your visitors automatically to their language version recognized according to the settings in their browser. Please note that WPML doean’t translate your contents automatically.
4. When you install WPML, you get over 60 pre-configured languages, ready to use. http://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/pre-configured-languages/
As you can see there are two versions of Chinese included.
You can also edit this table (via WPML’s GUI) to add your own custom languages: http://wpml.org/documentation/support/editing-wpmls-languages-table/
Again, please note that WPML doesn’t translate your content automatically.
I would like to purchase WPML for my development purpose. I used to do both non-profit and commercial sites and I would like to know if there is an kind of a discount for lifetime WPML package to developers like me?
Hi Boris, thanks for your interest in WPML. You need to buy only one license and you can use if for all the sites you are building. So this is a good deal, isn’t it?
We provide WPML licence for non-profits for free but for commercial usage you need to buy it.
Hi
I am creating a classified and market place website business using Inkthemes Classicraft and Sitemile Walleto WPs themes.
I would like to have the websites multilingual (English, Burmese, Chinese, Thai).
Can you confirm if you have the languages available and if it is possible to run the above mentioned themes multilingual?
Also, what kind of implementation is necessary?
Many Thanks
Alberto
Hi. When we are using wpml , does wpml translate all pages, writings etc? or do we need to create translated versions pages or writings? so do you translate everything or do we translate them? Thank You
Thanks for your interest in WPML.
WPML doesn’t translate your contents automatically.
WPML provides you an interface allowing to translate all your WordPress elements: posts, pages, menus, tags, categories, custom post types, custom fields, different strings etc. So WPML makes you WordPress site multilingual but doesn’t translate your contents. To translate your texts you have to possibilities:
1. To provide the translations yourself
2. To send a post/page to our professional translators from ICanLocalize service. This is integrated with WPML so you can do this directly from your WordPress admin and you also receive it directly to your WordPress.
Here you will see a video how it works: http://www.icanlocalize.com/site/services/wordpress-translation/
Google and other search engines don’t like automated translations, they would appreciate translations made by humans. Your site will be ranged in search engines better.

Hi ozge, we don’t have a demo version but you can buy and if WPML doesn’t fit your needs, we will give your money back:

Hi Chris,
yes, this is possible and if you do this before your CMS subscription expires you will only pay the difference.
Hi, we are using wordpress theme (Bridge). It’s very common. We’re ready to buy WPML plugin NOW but want to make sure it’s going to work before we do.
Can you please confirm asap? If it does not, what are our options?
Hi again,
this theme is not on our theme compatibility list so we didn’t test it but the theme authors say that it is WPML compatible. Please go to this page:
http://themeforest.net/item/bridge-creative-multipurpose-wordpress-theme/7315054
and locate the line which says: “WPML Ready – Fully compatible with WPML plugin – create multilingual web sites”

Hello, is it possible to change my username before i renew as lifetime subscriber?
Yes, this is possible but only our admins can do this. Please let us know what you need to be changed and we will do this for you.
