  1. Hi. I am thinking about tu use WPML for my multilanguage site, soI would like to know what I need to make my own themes compatibles with WPML before to purchase it. Thanks

    • Hi Mer,
      you have the following options:
      1. Use a theme which was tested by our team for WPML comp;compatibility
You will find a list here:
      http://wpml.org/documentation/theme-compatibility/

      2. Check in your theme’s site if there is a note that it is WPML compatible.

      3. You can not care about compatibility at all. Generally speaking every theme that uses WordPress API runs multilingual with WPML. You will be able to translate your posts, pages, categories, tags, menus, images, custom posts and taxonomies, even custom fields irrespective of a theme chosen. But currently the themes offered in the WP marker are more and more sophisticated and offer more and more custom options. These to be translated require the presence of so called wpml config file. Some developers can create this file themselves, while for others it is a challenge. This is why we ask theme authors for their help here. When a theme author provides his/her theme with such a file your works is easy – all the theme depended strings will appear in our String translation module.

  2. Hello. I’m trying to purchase the lifetime license through Paypal, but your page doesn’t work. After choosing Paypal and clicking on its button, the page doesn’t go to Paypal for payment. Why?

  3. Hi There!

Can I upgrade to a lifetime package after If I buy a year package? I mean this year I buy a one year package and next year I upgrade to lifetime package.

    • Hi Lillada,
      yes, you can do this.

If you upgrade before your subscription expires you will pay only the difference. 30 days before your account expires you will get a notification and you will be able to upgrade to lifetime.

  4. Hi,

I want to use your currency converter for woocommerce for the blasktoktheme which it is compatible. However I do not want to use the language translation. Can I just have the currency converter without the languages? So basically the site will only be in english, with the option to change the currency to Dollars, Yen and Euros. If this is possible, how easy is it to do? As I have search your forums and cant find anyone doing this.

    Much thanks,

    Andreas

  5. I’m trying to purchase the Multilingual CMS Lifetime version. I’ve got a paypal account, but when i try to pay, it tells me i need a creditcard, which i do not own. Can i pay for the plugin with a creditcard?

  6. Hello,

This is the second message i leave, the first one was deleted for some reason?

I’m trying to purchase the the 199 version with paypal, but then i’m required to give a creditcard, which i don’t own. How can i pay for this plugin without a creditcard?

    • Hi Piet, your last questions wasn’t deleted but was waiting for moderation.
As I replied, you can use ‘PayPal’ instead of a credit card.

  7. It’s my last day for renewal of my one-year subscription. I’d like to upgrade for lifetime subscription. I discovered my VAT number isn’t mentioned in my account. Changing it is not possible: the server resets the connection, a possible sign of some coding error? How to solve this?

    • Let me consult your case with our developers. Don’t worry that your license expires in the meantime (if this will happen we will extend it manually before your case is sorted out).

    • Hi agian,
so we tested it and changing the VAT number should be possible.

To make it happen, you need to:
      1. Log into you WPML account
      2. Go to Account settings
      3. Change the VAT number input field, save changes.

      Does this work for you?

      • That was exactly what I did. Tried it again, didn’t work, tried it one more time, with the Safari Inspect Element window open to find possible sever errors. But now it works. Maybe the first retry was still a cached version? I don’t know. We do have letters in our VAT numbers here.
Anyway, it seems to be solved now. Thanks.

  8. Hello, I have the WPML Multilingual CMS package installed for my webpage. The problem is that I updated to the last version of WP, and know the plug in is not working correctly (specifically the menu). I would like to update to the last version, but I don’t know how to do it without having to pay the full amount again… Could you please help? Thanks!
    Belén

  9. I use qtranslate in wordpress websites, but i’m not satisfied. I would like to know if there is a way to try your plugin and realize if satisfy my needs.

    Thanks

  10. after restalling the cardspiel site from a back-up all of the plugins stopped working,

i was able to delete the folders and re-install all of the necessary plugins except yours – wpml multilingual cms – my site was originally set up by a developer who has an account with your company – they installed your plugin

Also you have no contact information on your website – just this stupid form – this is unprofessional and not acceptable – no phone numbers or email addresses is pathetic and gives the impression that ‘on the go systems’ are not a good company to do business – and who have no customer support. Please help asap

    • Dear Richard,
thank you for contacting us. Sorry to hear you’ve had problems with WPML. Thanks for your feedback. It is very valuable for us.

      Let me help you.
      1. Here we have the contact page:
      http://wpml.org/home/contact-us/

      2. I cannot help you more with your site without detailed information.
Please contact our support forum. For this you need to login to your WPML account. If the WPML license for bought for your name, you should be able to do this. If however if was bought on behalf of someone and you don’t have the credentials there is no other way and you need to buy it anew.

  11. how can you ask a technical support query without a user account – has it crossed your mind that developers are using your products on their customers websites and that these customers may have queries about these products

    • Hi Richard, hi again.
In such a case you the customer should ask the license owner (the developer) for credentials. Only the license owner can access WPML account.

  12. Hello, I consider to buy WPML to my site but I have made a theme in Artisteer and I want to be sure that WPML works ok with my theme.

Is it a way to control this before purchase?

    Best regards
    Tommy

  13. Hi I just purchased the Multilingual CMS Lifetime with my paypal account. My account HAS been charged.
I have no account and no idea where I can sign up for one.
I have no download and I can’t even find the cart.

What happened? How can I get an account or my download?

    • Hi Crystal,
      there are two possibilities:
      1. Your activation email went to your spam folder. In this case please check it or try to recover your password:
      https://wpml.org/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword
      2. You made a typo in your email. If option 1. won’t work, please let me know and share your order number (or anything else that will let us identify you in our system) and we will correct your email and send the credentials again.

  14. Hi,
I want to purchase, however for tax purposes I need a bill that states the company.
During the checkout process I can only set my name.

Is it possible to get a receipt stating a company?

    Kind regards,
    Alex

  15. Hi, I want to have a multilingual website and use two domains, .com for english speaking customers and .it for italian speaking customers. Do I need to install 2 times the same theme on two different domains or can I do it with WPML in one single installation?

    Thanks

    • Hi Roberto,
or you can upgrade to Lifetime subscription just paying the difference only. Without an active subscription your WPML plugin will still be working but yes, you won’t be able to ask questions in our support forum and access new versions.

  16. Hello,
I don’t know much about WPML or how it works. Does this provide front end translation for all languages? Like a Google Translate drop down? I am not worried about backend stuff because my client speaks English. The website uses WooCommerce, is there anything special I have to do for translating woocommerce checkout, etc or does this plugin take care of that?

    Thanks

    • Hi there,
So WPML doesn’t translate your contents automatically. WPML provides you an interface allowing to translate all your WordPress elements: posts, pages, menus, tags, categories, custom post types, custom fields, different strings etc. So WPML makes you WordPress site multilingual but doesn’t translate your contents. To translate your texts you have to possibilities:
      1. To provide the translations yourself
      2. To send a post/page to our professional translators from ICanLocalize service. This is integrated with WPML so you can do this directly from your WordPress admin and you also receive it directly to your WordPress.
Here you will see a video how it works:
      http://www.icanlocalize.com/site/services/wordpress-translation/

Google and other search engines don’t like automated translation, they would appreciate translations made by human. Your site will be ranged in search engines better.
      MOre about machine translations:
      http://wpml.org/faq/does-wpml-support-machine-translation/

      I hope that helps.

      • Okay, I guess I need to upgrade to the the CMS plan to have it.. Will my receipt shows as a separate $50 payment or as $79 for the upgrade? The reason for this is easier to claim the costs in one item.

        • If you upgrade from Blog subscription and your current subscription is still active you will pay the difference only. Please use a link for this from your WPML account panel.

  17. Hi.
I want to use your wpml Multilingual Plugin. But i have a question.
I want to use your plugin in this way :
First a language selection page will come
    like :
    Turkish / English

and then with a selection, the wordpress site will open in selected language.
    is this possible ?

    • Yes, this is possible but let me explain the idea to show how WPML works.
You install WPML and add languages. Then you have to create posts and pages in all the languages you added. Then you add a language switcher. You can add it to your header, sidebar, footer, wherever you need. If you want your site to start with a page asking what language to choose you will have to create a separate page for this, insert this language switcher in this page body and set this page as your homepage. Is this what you need? Anyway, WPML lets you insert your language switcher in different places.

      • Yes this is what i need.
But with wordpress, when i make seperate homepage for example index.html for language switcher and make links to wordpress site’s index.php then it returns to index.html again.
        How can i prevent this?

  18. Hi,

I’m not able to pay with my credit card on your website but I am amble to use it normally else where. is this normal? I need to purchase the multilingual app to continue developing my website!

  19. Hi, I’m not sure if WPML is the right solution for me, that’s why I’m asking. I have a dilemma. I could build multiple niche sites for many European countries such as UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain etc… and I could have them totally separated on myservice.co.uk, myservice.fr, myservice.it, myservice.es and so on… OR I could build a huge international site called myservice.eu and publish content for all these countries on that site. I would offer the same service in all these countries, so the content and topic of these languages would be the same (although not identical), but it would definitely be very closely related, that’s why I was thinking about creating one central site (it could seem like much more of an authority in Google’s eyes than a handful of smaller sites). My question is, do you think this is a good idea or should I go with individual domains? Also, I wouldn’t need to translate anything per se, because I would offer content like “my service in Paris” or “my service in London” which would be two different pages obviously and people would even use different Google’s to visit these pages, so that’s why I’d like to ask whether WPML is the right purchase decision for me and if it is a doable and good idea from an SEO (geo-targeting in WMT) perspective? Please let me know and thanks!
