If you theme is not listed it means that we didn’t test it, not that it won’t work. If you want to make sure if your theme works without any issues you can buy WPML and test it for 30 days. Our refunds policy allows you to do so and if your are not completely satisfied with WPML we will give your money back: https://wpml.org/documentation/theme-compatibility/
Sirs,
Meaning to ask..

Hi I am planning a global newswebsite and I am at this moment concidering multilanguages tools and template on news site. I like the template newspaper 6 so thinking of buying that but the builders dont know if this is compatible with WPML
can you tell me?
if not compatible can you tell me what other newssite template is good and compatible?
You theme is not listed there but it only means it wasn’t tested by our team. You can test it yourself, our refunds policy allows you to but WPML and test it for 30 days. If you are not fully satisfied with WPML we will give your money back: https://wpml.org/purchase/refunds-policy/
Hi, I just added a question but I don’t see ii so trying again:
I am planning a global newssite and am thinking of buying a template for iit called newspaper 6. But I need a good translation tool which I hink WPML can be. The builders of newspaper 6 are not sure that wpml is compatible with there template. Can you tell me if it is?
if not can you suggest another newspage template that is?
Hi I submitted a question but seems not going through. Trying with other laptop
I am planning on a newswebsite to build and thinking of using the template newspaper 6.
I will need lot of languages and wpml looks like a good tool for that but the makers of newspaper dont know if it is compatilble. Do you know?
if not compatible do you know anohter newspage template that is good and compatible?
This is possibly glaringly obvious but I can find a clear answer!
In the first instance does WPML automatically translate a page, blog post, site, for example into French, and then that translation can be refined by a person.
Hi Wilf,
no, WPML doesn’t translate automatically. If you use WPML for your multilingual site, you have three options to translate your contents:
1. Do this manually – copy from the documents your customer has provided and paste translations directly into your WordPress. This is a simple process but a very time-consuming one.
2. Send your content to your own translators via XLIFF files. WPML Translation Management module helps you here.
3. Send your content to a professional translation (currently there are two professional services integrated with WPML). Completed translations appear automatically in your site. No manual work is needed.
I purchased two times the WPML Multilingual CMS (2012 & 2014). Now my account has expired, but I don’t see a way to renew it for another year for $39 as it’s stated in the purchase page.
I only see the option to purchase it again for one year at the price of $79.00 or a Lifetime Account for $116.00 instead of $195.00.
Hi Diego,
the renewal for $39 is possible when your account is still active (before it expires), to be precise you have 30 days before your active subscription expires. 30 days before and then 3 days before your account expires you should get an email that reminds you this. So now, the only option you have is – as you stated – either to purchase again or to upgrade to Lifetime for $116.
I wish my website (build in WordPress with Mr. Tailor theme) to operate in English and Polish.
I’ve chosen Woocommerce as my e-commerce platform. As far as I am aware it can only support one currency (unless a currency switcher is used).
I would like my products to be sold in 2 different currencies but without a currency switcher. Basically when using English, I would like my customers to see prices in GBP and in Polish, I would like them to see prices in PLN as default.
But… I want the prices to be completely different, not just converted by chosen currency rate (I would like to manually override the currency exchange rate for each product separately).
Example:
If the GBP to PLN exchange rate is 1:5,
Product A, when being on English site, costs £100 so effectively after switching the language to Polish, it would cost 500PLN.
But I would like to manually change that 500PLN to let’s say 300PLN without worrying about current exchange rate.
I also want to use different proportions for other products.
We use bbpress on our site with different forums for each language and it works. If you have any problems we will help you in our support forum: https://wpml.org/forums/forum/english-support/
Hi there, I need to translate our website to different languages. Actually just the pages not the back end. I was thinking about the multilangual blog. Is this enough. Please advice
Hi,
WPML will let you to translate your blog easily but you add translations yourself. WPML doesn’t translate your contents automatically. The $29 (Multilingual Blog) subscription should fit your needs. https://wpml.org/purchase/
I am considering purchasing WPML, however I am concerned about a number of points.
1. Is it possible to setup WPML to use TLD on a shared web server hosting environment? (Specifically a hostgator shared hosting environment.)
EG: site.co.uk, site.com, site.dk
2. Does WPML add any form of parameters to the wordpress URL’s or do they stay clean when using a TLD setup?
3. What is the best migration root to move from a WordPress Multisite install to WPML setup with zero/minimum downtime?
2. URLs created for translations will reflect the title of your post/page, the same as WordPress does when you create a regular post/page.
3. I’m not sure if zero downtime is possible in your case. I would suggest to ask this question in our support forum if you decide to purchase WPML. Please note that our refunds policy allows you to buy WPML, test it for 30 days and if you are not completely satisfied we will give your money back: https://wpml.org/purchase/refunds-policy/
We are a business in Spain. My company has a CIF for an extra periferical EU region where VAT is 7% (Canary Islands). Can you adjust the bill to pay the right price in the renewal subscription? Our subscription will finish in 12 days.
Hello!
My friend give me to test plugin before purchase.
i iinsta/active and have problem. plugin no show in admin panel and when i go to Configure in plugin:
open page with “You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page”
How fix this problem? that real to fix? cuz don`t want buy if this problem will be..
I’m having my site rebuilt onto xtheme template as it WPML compatible, and has pre installed woo commerce. http://themeforest.net/item/x-the-theme/5871901
Now reading the support thread on here I’m confused as to why I would need to another woo commerce plugin if the theme has already been built, and claims to be WPML ready?
Does that make sense?
To me if its ready then I just buy the plugin?
Second question for the xtheme which wpml is required?
Hi,
this theme was tested by our Compatibility Team so it should work well with WPML.
I don’t think that the plugin comes with the WooCommerce plugin already built-in.
If you want to use this theme for an online store with the WooCommerce plugin, you need to install the WooCommerce plugin, the WooCommerce Multilingual plugin and you some plugins that are included in the CMS ($79) or Lifetime ($195) package of WPML. More details here.
I have a question, I bought the Multilingual CMS last year, and I renewed it 2 days ago but now I’m thinking about upgrading to the unlimited version, If I do so will my 39$ renewal amount be subtracted from the upgrade amount?
Hello,
yes it will be subtracted (so you will pay the difference only) but you need to upgrade your CMS subscription to Lifetime within 30 days before it expires.
I have purchased this theme http://www.templatemonster.com/demo/50744.html
Would it work well with WPML? I want to use it as bilingual site. I’m also wondering if I should get Multilingual Blog or CMS version?
Hello, in your case the CMS version is needed. You will probably need the String Translation module to translate some custom strings provided by this theme and this module is included only in the CMS or Lifetime subscription.
The authors of this theme say that it is WPML ready so it should work fine. If you are not completely satisfied with WPML, please let us know within 30 days and we will give your money back:
Hello, WPML allows you to run your blog in more than language (and yes, you will be able to add the languge switcher) but WPML doesn’t translate your contents automatically so you need to translate the contents yourself (or send it to professional translators, WPML also supports this but this is paid extra)
I use WPML plugin for my site Barcelonatravelapartments.com. I am in the process to renew the whole site, and I will build it up on a subdomain and transfer the new built site. This means that I need to reinstall the WPML plugin, however after a hard drive crash I do not longer have the .zip file on my computer, do I need to purchase for it one more time so I can download it again?
Hi,
to download the WPML plugin (both recent or old versions) you need to have active subscription. We don’t delete old accounts, even if your has subscriptions expired so please log into your WPML account and check if it is still active. If not, you will be able to renew it. For old customers we offer a discount when upgrading to Lifetime. But you need to be logged in to do this.
Hi – I’ve posted a comment before, and filled in the non-profit form twice – please could you respond, I’d love to use your plugin as soon as possible for a non-profit org I’m helping to setup a WordPress.
Hi James,
I missed your second comment. I have just replied. Yes, you can apply for free subscription for non-profit organisations. I will contact the person handling this to check the status of your application.
How does this work with pages that are set up using the Visual Composer plugin,
are the pages duplicated with the individual blocks and modules that would then need to be translated?
What happens if you choose not to translate some of the content. For example, the client will be translating all the pages of the website, but they have a blog, and would probably not be able to do all of the past posts. Would they still appear in the original language.
Can custom post types also be translated?
And finally do you give any type of discount if someone has a Toolset license.
When you build multilingual sites with WPML you don’t have to translate all pages and posts. Yes, your example is a good one. This is what we also do here, on wpml.org. We rarely translate blog posts. So if you visit a blog post that is only in English and look at the footer you will see that the other languages disappeared. But if you look for example at this page: https://wpml.org/purchase/refunds-policy/ you will see more flags.
I’m happy to hear that you have a Toolset license but sorry we don’t have any discount for Toolset users.
Could someone use subdirectories for the language selection, and specify a different default language based on subdomain? This way it’s possible to target both language and market from the URL for Google?
http://il.example.com/some-post/ – default Hebrew for Israel subdomain
http://il.example.com/en/some-post/ – English in subdirectory for Israel
http://il.example.com/es/some-post/ – Spanish in subdirectory for Israel
http://es.example.com/some-post/ – default Spanish for Spain
http://es.example.com/en/some-post/ – English in subdirectory for Spain
http://es.example.com/he/some-post/ – Hebrew in subdirectory for Spain
Hi,
If using the plug for both English & Hebrew will the plug also change the main bar navigation to RTL? Can I see a demo of it?
Thanking you in advanced,
Ofer
Hi, WPML supports Hebrew. But please make sure that the theme you will use is RTL ready (special CSS is required). This site was done with WPML and Hebrew:
http://www.ceremonietea.co.il/
I covered it in a case study (but this was more advanced site since this is an online store)
https://wpml.org/2014/03/build-online-store-different-languages-wordpress-wpml/
Hi,
If using the plug with both English & Hebrew will the plug be able to change the direction of the main menu and the pages to RTL?
Thanking you in advanced,
Ofer

Hi,
1. By default WPML let you set your languages as subfolders or subdomains but WPML can also serve different languages from different domains. More details here:

http://es.example.com/en/some-post/ – English in subdirectory for Spain

Hi,
using WPML setup you can either implement the first option or this one:
http://example.com/some-post/ – default English for “the world”
http://he.example.com/some-post/ – Hebrew in subdirectory for “the world”
http://es.example.com/some-post/ – Spanish in subdirectory for “the world”
If you need additional domain mapping, this is also possible but for this some setup is required in your web server:
https://wpml.org/faq/server-setting-for-languages-in-different-domains/
