Hi Frank, hi again.
Yes, we have several supporters answering all sorts of technical questions related to our plugins in this support forum: https://wpml.org/forums/forum/english-support/
Anadore, I would not recommend it. Why? When you run into any issues and raise a ticket in our support forum, the supporters will ask you if you are using the recent versions of our plugins. Only the recent versions are bugs free, at least the ones we are aware of.
Hello,
A I would like to ask you
1) When I buy your WPML, is it possible to change the pictures, banners and so on .. in the different languages?
2) Is your WPML working with all widgets? like calendars, contact form builder, newstlletter and so on .. ??
Hi Peter,
1) yes, you will be able to do this with WPML. The CMS (or Lifetime) subscription will be needed (it include the Media Translation and the String translation modules that will help you to translate different images). Please note that sometimes an image is a part of your theme and translating it might be tricky, especially if the the is not WPML compatible.
2) You can translate widgets with WPML. There are three ways to do this:
1. If you are using the WordPress default widgets you will be able to translate both the title and content under the “WPML -> String Translation” screen
2. If you are using custom widgets which are coded correctly and use apply_filters on widget_title and widget_text then again you should be able to translate both the title and content under the “WPML ->
String Translation” screen.
I cannot assure you that all widgets can be translated with WPML. The more complex functionality the widget provides, the more difficult it would be. If your widget plugin was tested by our compatibility team, the chances that it will work smoothly with WPML are higher.
You can buy WPML and test it yourself for 30 days. We have a refunds policy and we can give your money back if your are not completely satisfied. https://wpml.org/purchase/refunds-policy/
Please note that during this 30 days trial period you can ask technical questions in our support forum.
Hi Simon,
our former customers can upgrade to Lifetime at a reduced price. When you log into your WPML account you will see the link. If you don’t remember your password you can use this link to reset it: https://wpml.org/account/lost-my-password/
We don’t have any other bonuses for previous paid customers.
Hello, is this plugin 100% ok to use with woocommerce? To use it with woocommerce, do i need to install some other plugins? Can you give me some recommendations on those plugins? Thank you.
Hi, want to get a CMS license from Germany but when I get redirected to your credit card form the price of $79 gets converted to € 75 which is 5 Euro more than with the real exchange rate today. I am not getting a license at that price.
I visited the sap.com and I’m not sure what is the language switcher there. Anyway, WPML outputs the list of languages as a HTML list and you can style it with CSS. If you are a CSS master the possibilities are endless. Does this help?
Hi – we are looking for a plugin that will detect if someone is in spain & will display the page in spanish – will WPML do this automatically?
also do we have to create a translation page for every page on the site, or will the plugin translate some automatically (like google translate plugin) ?
2. If you want you can test WPML yourself- our refunds policy let you purchase the plugin and test it for 30 days. If you are not satisfy with our product we will give your money back.
Hi Georgi, after purchasing WPML you can edit your company data in your WPML account and they appear on your invoice, so this is not a problem. However buying WPML by bank wire might be a problem because we don’t support this method. Please contact our sales team using this form:
Hi Piotr, yes, you can if you have the WPML plugins installed (or downloaded). If your subscription expires you won’t be able to download it from your account. But if you have it installed, it will still work. After the first year you can upgrade to Lifetime by paying the difference only.
I have placed an order but have not received the login credentials.
Can you please follow up on this or provide some kind of support number i can call?
Hi James, thank you for purchasing WPML.
We are sending the credentials immediately. If you didn’t get the activation email, please:
1. check your spam folder
2. try to reset your password https://wpml.org/account/lost-my-password/
I bought this plugin and was under the impression that it would translate my content for me, from what i can gather i have to pay a translator 9 cent per word to translate my content, if this is the case, why am i paying $79 for this plugin?
Hi Karl,
WPML doesn’t translate your content automatically. Currently the following translation services are available for you to choose from:
ICanLocalize
ICanLocalize provides a hassle-free and safe environment for getting translation work. All translators are qualified and hold an academic degree in translation. ICanLocalize translation technology enables translators to work 50% faster and the savings are passed on to to you.
Cloudwords
Cloudwords offers quality translation for both small and large websites. In-context review guarantees that all published content meets high standards and you can work with your favorite translation service or locate a translation service in the Cloudwords Marketplace.
Translations made by human require time and skills but it would be appreciated by search engines. If you think about attracting organic traffic for your multilingual site this could be a good investment. We believe the prices are competitive. Decision is yours of course. If you are not satisfied with WPML please feel free to ask for a refund: https://wpml.org/purchase/refunds-policy/
Can I translate the contents of a plugin called SoulSections block with WPML?
I have an one page scrolling website and some of the contents are located straight in the block elements (I´m using Headway themes) and not in pages or posts.
Also, does WMPL include option for Finnish language? That´s the main language of the site, but we need English as a secondary language.
Hi Laura,
Our Compatibility Team didn’t test the SoulSections plugin with WPML so I cannot say how it will behave. WPML is compatible with the Headway theme and this one was tested by our Compatibility Team. You can give it a try and test WPML with SoulSections yourself, our Refunds Policy allows you to test WPML for 30 days and if you are not satisfied with WPML, we will give your money back: https://wpml.org/purchase/refunds-policy/
Yes, WPML supports Finnish language. When you install WPML the wizard will ask you to select your languages. You will need to pick Finnish as the primary language and then you can add English as the secondary one.
I have run into a problme of not being able to edit a Menu in another language.
It seems i need to update the WPML plug in, because this known bug has been fixed in an upcdate.
WPML was set-up for me by someone who has left the business of website building.
Could you give me a guideline how to update without having to set the system up again ?
I now use
WPML CMS NAV 1.2.2
WPML Media 1.0.0
WPML Multilingual CMS 2.2.2.1
WPML Translation Management 1.2.2
Hi John,
the WPML version you are mentioning is quite old and unfortunately the automatic updates were not available that time (they were introduced with WPML 3.1.7). In other words it means that you won’t upgrade WPML to the recent version unless you have an active WPML subscription. So in your case the steps to upgrade would be as follow:
1. buy WPML (CMS or Lifetime package)
2. use this guide https://wpml.org/faq/install-wpml/ – “Updating WPML manually (for WPML before 3.1.7)” section
Please note that once you buy WPML you can ask all sort of technical questions in our support forum.
I require to export all posts as xliff. From what I read you can only send jobs to translators. I’d like to download all posts as XLIFF, is this possible?
Please note that if you get started with the CMS subscription and decide to upgrade to Lifetime later, you will pay the difference only. But you have to extend your license before your subscription expires.
That’s right. They are all included in the CMS or Lifetime package. The only exception are WooCommerce and WooCOmmerce Multilingual but these is also free and downloadable from WordPress repository.
I’ll be able to give for specific user permission to work with Deutsche woo commerce only, right ?
So he’ll be able to look only on the Deutsche version.
Not exactly. You can limit the back-end view for specific language (by setting this language the default admin language for this user – WPML allows you to choose admin language for each user individually) but the user will still be able to switch the language of this backend to another one).
Hi, as far as I can tell it is only possible to translate themes with .mo files and not plugins? Is this correct? If I had .mo for my theme, and several .mo’s for plugins would WPML be able to use these?
Hi Andy, WPML supports both ways. In WPML panel you will find an option where you can decide: translation done by mo/po files or through the WPML panel.
This plugin will be purchased with the intention of a translation company using it for their clients websites. Obviously having ‘ICanLocalize’ being advertised is a problem in this situation.
Do you a) offer an unbranded version or b) if not, is it legal to remove anything related to ICL from the plugin?
Hi Andrew, WPML is based on the GPL so you can change the source files as you wish. But please note that you will have to do this whenever upgrading to the lasted version. I’m not sure what you mean by “unbranded” version. You can switch off the option that says that your site was done with WPML (if you had this in mind).
You can buy WPML and see how it looks from the inside and if you think you cannot use it for what you need, please use our refunds policy: https://wpml.org/purchase/refunds-policy/ and we will give your money back.
I want to buy wpml for another site, do I need a new username and password to do this? When I went to purchase, it said you already have a purchase and wouldn’t let me buy again.
Hi WPML, you have been recommended as best translation solution for WordPress. I am working for a solidarity org in Greece that is supporting refugees by providing housing, and we are already housing 14 refugees. We need to be able to publish our WordPress blog in both Greek and English. Could you help with costs? Free would be lovely, but I would be happy to contribute 10EUR
For simple sites the Blog subscription should be enough. If it turns out that for your case the CMS subscription is needed, you can easily upgrade to CMS and pay the difference only.
Please note that WPML doesn’t translate your content automatically.
Hi,
Looking to get the most basic plugin. Once purchased do you have a team of experts that can answer questions?

Hello,
Would WPML work with an old (2.0.20) version of woocommerce ? My client can’t update woocommerce but would like to buy WPML…

Note: If you are coding your own widgets see: Texts in widgets needs to go through ‘apply_filters’: http://wpml.org/documentation/support/troubleshooting-string-localization/
3. Sometimes the above options are not enough. In this case you may want to look into using Widget Logic see:http://wpml.org/2011/03/howto-display-different-widgets-per-language/

Hello, is this plugin 100% ok to use with woocommerce? To use it with woocommerce, do i need to install some other plugins? Can you give me some recommendations on those plugins? Thank you.
Yes, WPML is compatible with WooCommerce. To create an online multilingual store you will need these plugins:
https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/woocommerce-multilingual/
Hi, want to get a CMS license from Germany but when I get redirected to your credit card form the price of $79 gets converted to € 75 which is 5 Euro more than with the real exchange rate today. I am not getting a license at that price.
Hi Martin, we sell in dollars only. We don’t have any impact on the exchange rate.
Is it possible to make a language switcher like on sap .com ?
Its probably partly custom, but does it take alot of effort to make something like that?
I visited the sap.com and I’m not sure what is the language switcher there. Anyway, WPML outputs the list of languages as a HTML list and you can style it with CSS. If you are a CSS master the possibilities are endless. Does this help?
Hi – we are looking for a plugin that will detect if someone is in spain & will display the page in spanish – will WPML do this automatically?
also do we have to create a translation page for every page on the site, or will the plugin translate some automatically (like google translate plugin) ?
Hi Maggie,
WPML can detect the language set in your user browser and redirect you accordingly.
No, WPML doesn’t translate automatically.
Do you have any information if WPML is compatible in combination with the real estate ‘Easy Property listing’ plugin?
Hi Hans,
sorry but this plugin wasn’t tested by our Compatibility Team. The plugins tested are listed here:
https://wpml.org/documentation/plugins-compatibility/
The following options are possible:
1. If you already have the Easy Property license please check the answer for this thread:
https://easypropertylistings.com.au/support/topic/wpml-support/
or ask the plugin authors directly.
2. If you want you can test WPML yourself- our refunds policy let you purchase the plugin and test it for 30 days. If you are not satisfy with our product we will give your money back.
https://wpml.org/purchase/refunds-policy/
3. You can consider using other tools for a Real Estate site built with WordPress. For example one of our customers created a multilingual real estate site using our Toolset plugins:
https://toolset.com/2015/08/how-to-develop-a-multilingual-real-estate-site-with-wordpress-and-no-php/
Hi Agnes,
Thanks for responding and I’ll give WPML a try.
Thank you Hans. Happy using then! Please feel free to use our support forum anytime you have technical questions.
We’re company based in Europe, we want to buy “Multilingual CMS Lifetime” by bank wire and we want you to issue the invoice. Thanks!
Hi Georgi, after purchasing WPML you can edit your company data in your WPML account and they appear on your invoice, so this is not a problem. However buying WPML by bank wire might be a problem because we don’t support this method. Please contact our sales team using this form:
https://wpml.org/home/contact-us/contact-form/
explain your case and we will see what we can do for you.
Hi,
if we choose one year license can we still use the plugin after expiration of support period?
Hi Piotr, yes, you can if you have the WPML plugins installed (or downloaded). If your subscription expires you won’t be able to download it from your account. But if you have it installed, it will still work. After the first year you can upgrade to Lifetime by paying the difference only.
I have placed an order but have not received the login credentials.

We are sending the credentials immediately. If you didn’t get the activation email, please:
1. check your spam folder
2. try to reset your password

and share your first and last name together with the oder number. It will help our admins to identify you in our system and fit this.
Hi,
will the blog wpml package be enough for a woocommerce based shop or do i need the CMS package?
Thanks
Hi Nils, you need the CMS subscription for a multilingual store. Here is the full list of required plugins:

Hi,
I’m web developer at Acktar LTD, and it’s my first try with a WPML.
The website(WordPress+Woocommerce) exist in the English about two years, and we want to create a Deutsche version of the store.
We need different Users, Products, Payment Options etc.
We need one Admin user for both websites, and another admin for the Deutsche only.
Is the basic package will do the job or we need something more progressive ?
Sincerely Ronen.M.
Hi,
thanks for contacting us. No, the basic package is not enough. To run a multilingual store with WPML you need the CMS or the Lifetime version.
Here’s the set of required plugins:

Now the company interested to open a Deutsche online store in addition to the existing website.

Is the basic pack is enough or we should get something more progressive ?
