Hi,
Strongly considering purchasing the WPML plugin. Earlier I have bought the coming soon plugin from Seedprod and now I’m at a point where my Seedprod coming soon page has to become multilingual.
My question is can WPML show language flags instead of a language menu? And is it easy to setup?
When already bought the coming soon page from seedprod, which WPML pack would you say would be doable when my need is just having a single coming soon page from Seedprod translated giving visitors the choice of swiching through 2 language flags – danish and english.
You can get started from the “Multilingul Blog” and if it turn out that you need some extensions that are included in the “Multilingual CMS” you can upgrade to it by paying the difference only.
Seems like that I need a extension that include the Multilingual CMS whcich means that I will have to pay the dif. How is it posible to only pay the dif? Tried through the website https://wpml.org/download/wpml-string-translation/ but it charges full price.
You need to log into your WPML account and you will find relevant links there.
Thanks ..
Hi,
I need a woocommerce plugin that will use different payment gateways for different States (not countries), depending on which State the customer is getting the product shipped to (customer’s shipping address).
Can this module be configured that way? If not, can i pay for a custom modification for it to work that way?
Dear Sean,
I’m sorry we don’t have a free demo/trail version but:
1. Ou refund policy allows you to test WPML for 30 days: https://wpml.org/purchase/refunds-policy/
2. You can get start with the “Multilingual CMS” and you can upgrade to Lifetime later (you will pay the difference only)
I work for a digital agency in the UK and we have a client that requires a bespoke WordPress CMS in place. We are currently going through a development spike to test out how it would all come together and one of the requirements is a multilingual plugin. I was wondering if WPML were able to provide a free trial of the plugin for a couple of days as we’d like to test the plugin which seems to be meet the client requirements.
Hi,
sorry we don’t have any free trial but our refunds policy allows you to test WPML for 30 days. If you are not satisfied, we will give your money back: https://wpml.org/purchase/refunds-policy/
Hi! I’m thinking about purchasing WPML, but I have a doubt. In my site, I’m using a theme from Elegant Themes, called Divi. Is there any compatibility issues?
I am building a custom theme for a global website that will be in two languages. In order for copy to be translated, does every copy line need to be in WordPress? If I hardcode certain elements in my theme, is there a way to translate with them? Perhaps with PHP if statements?
Hi
I am creating a website for a commercial client that requires translation. Can I get a limited duration developer licence while i build it. The client can then purchase a full licence key when I hand over the website.
Hi Nathan,
if you are a developer I would recommend you to buy the WPML subscription. The reason is simple. You will be able to use one WPML subscription for all your customers (current and future ones). We allow that. You just need to register each site you use WPML for in your WPML account.
Another option is that you can ask your customer to purchase WPML and share access to WPML account for you until you finish the development.
But we don’t have anything like “limited duration developer licensee”. If you buy the “Multilingual CMS” it will expire after the first year but your plugin won’t stop working. But you will lose access to future updates.
What most developers do, they buy the “Multilingual CMS” for one year and then they upgrade it to “Lifetime” version by paying the difference only and they use it for all their customers’ sites.
Hi. If I buy one year account can I upgrade for a lifetime and for what price?
Also I saw in comments, if my account ended all the translations done continues to work properly on my website. So what’s the reason to have a life time license? Is it useful only in case I keep making continuos translations?
Hi Vladimir, you need an active WPML subscription for future releases and to be able to ask questions in our support forum.
You upgrade to Lifetime by paying the difference only.
The Javo theme has been tested by our team and although the authors say that it is WPML compatible there are some issues: https://wpml.org/theme/javo-directory/
Hi Alexander, Let me contact our admins. Don’t worry, if we charged you, you will get access to WPML for sure. Please use this form as well to indicate this problem:
Hi!
I want to buy your wpml trasnlation plugin to get my site multilingual, author template said that is compatible with wpml, this template has a lot of features and options to trasnlate, in case i can’t find how to trasnlate some words, could you help me to find it?
or in this case how is working support.
If positive answer i will buy right now.
Hi Sergio,
yes, our supporters will explain how to translate different elements. Please note that WPML doesn’t translate automatically – you provide your own translations or you can send some of your post/pages (other contents) to professional translation services interated with WPML (paid extra).
Hey, guys I have payed form one year of WPML now 75$, invoice number [edited] .and I don’t have login informatio… Please I need answer ASAP, since I can’t write on suport as I’m not loged in…

First of all I heard that your plug-in works great. At the moment we don’t use this wpml but we want to purchase it. Our web site needs a translation for foreign customers.
Before purchasing I wanted to see if there was a problem with installing the wpm to our web site. I installed one of my wife’s pre-purchased one and there was a problem with installing.
Fatal error: Uncaught exception ‘Exception’ with message ‘Table ‘cimnastik_1.wp_icl_translations’ doesn’t exist’ in /home/cimnastik…….
As I searched the net, I found that my database doesn’t have wp_icl_translations table. So I had doubts for purchasing. If I purchase and cannot use the plug-in I will be upset.
Did you heard any similar problems with mine? Is there any solutions for that?
I really need this plug-in and want to purchase it. I will be very happy if you can find me the solutions.
Hello, you shouldn’t experience such problems if you use WPML with a WordPress site where WPML wasn’t previously installed. But if you do, our supporters will help you to find the cause and solve it.
Hello, I posted a message from here but when I checked, it was deleted. I want to purchase wpml but when I installled my wife’s purchased one, I got error of some database tables, Especially the wp_icl tables seems missing. If I purchase a new one from you, I’m afraid of getting the same problem. So I have doubts. But I really need this plug in for my foreign customers. I will appretiate if you can help me or find a solution.
Hi,
I am setting up my wordpress site, where I will not use really the blog aspect of it. It is more a service offering with a portfolio and other related information.
My portfolio is actually composed of posts, but no users would add any post, nor comment to existing ones. I will add new posts when needed.
I can take care of the translation of my posts in different languages, and I know that wpml can allow visitors to switch language while browsing, so that the corresponding translation of posts is displayed (if not, please correct me).
I have a couple of questions with respect
1)
Can I decide to have some posts available in any language (for example images) without the need to create a translation for them?
2)
Besides posts, can I translate the strings from the input fields in the “Customize” section of my theme? I am using enigma-parallax, and for in the theme customization, I have for example:
“Theme Options->Theme Slider Options” where I enter the text for each slide
“Theme Options->Service Option” where I enter the section title and other text
etc…
I need these text to change according to what language is selected by the user.
Is it possible? What wpml product would I need for that?
Hi Cristiano,
1) yes, you can leave some posts/pages without translation. WPML allows that.
2) yes, WPML allows you to translate everything. In some cases (depend on the theme you use) translation theme options might require an additional file called wpml-config.xml https://wpml.org/documentation/support/language-configuration-files/
already have such file and you don’t have to do anything.
You will need either “Multilingual CMS” or “Multilingual CMS Lifetime”. You can start with “Multilingual CMS” and upgrade to lifetime later y paying the difference only.
Hello Agnes,
Thanks a lot for your quick and complete answer!
The list of compatible theme, shows weblizar “enigma”, while I am actually using “enigma parallax” from the same provider.
On their site, also “enigma parallax” is claimed to be WPML compatible.
In case it is not 100% compatible, is it just a matter of scripting the wpml-config.xml file?
I am confident with scripting that xml, but in case does WPML provide tech support to help?
Thanks again and regards,
Cristiano.
Yes, making the theme WPML fully compatible usually comes down to having everything all the tricky parts covered in the wpml-config.xml file but the condition is that the theme was coded with WordPress standards (gettext functions were used etc).
Our support people can help with some tips and hints of course but if something requires a change in the source files of the theme, it’s beyond their scope of course. If this is a case, only the theme author can do this.
Hi,
Great plugin!
The images subtitles can have translation? We have some galleries of images, each one with subtitles. Can we have different subtitles language with this plugin?
thanx
Hemilton
Yes, but you will need an extension (WPML String Translation) which is available only in the CMS (or Lifetime) version.
You can translate your image titles, alt attributes and captions to any language you want.
Hello,
not really, WPML doesn’t translate automatically. You need to insert your translations yourself or send your post/pages to one of the translation services that are integrated with WPML but paid extra. Then, once your site is translated, from a visitor point of view, he/she can select a language from the language switcher and see the same page in another language. But this won’t happen automatically.
Hi I have bought a theme from templatic Live Magazine and they say the theme (among many more) is WPML authorized but I can not find it in your list of certified theme?
You can try it anyway. You should translate most elements of your site even if a theme hasn’t been certified to be WPML compatible. If it turns out that you cannot accept your final results you can ask for a refund: https://wpml.org/purchase/refunds-policy/

If you need the String translation plugin you need to but the “Multilingual CMS” subscription. You you will need the WPML core plugin anyway.
By paying the difference I meant the situation when you but the “WPML Blog” first and later on you would like to upgrade to “Multilingual CMS”.

Thanks.

Hi, as we understand you need a plugin for Gateways, not to translate products or use multi-currencies. WPML won’t help here.
ahhh Wrong plugin i see…. Woocommerce are linking to your plugin by mistake from this page:

Yes, you can use WPML on all your sites (or sites you build for your customers).
That’s nice. So I can buy one wpml licens for me and my clients or do I need one per client?
you need to buy only one licence. You can use it for all clients.

Yes, you will be able to translate them if you wrapped your stings in gettext functions.
https://codex.wordpress.org/Plugin_API/Filter_Reference/gettext
WPML has an option to detect such strings and you will be able to translate them in your WPML panel.

Hello, we’re running a huge WordPress 4.4.2 based website with these plugins:
WPML Multilingual CMS 2.9.2
WPML String Translation 1.8.2
WPML Translation Management 1.7.2
Will it be possible to replace these three plugins with the new commercial

Will the transition be seamless?
TIA 🙂
