Does WPML work with Ninja forms? I know it works with Ninja but I just picked up a client that is using Ninja forms and need to build into my quote for gravity forms if it doesnt work with Ninja.
WPML doesn’t have the integration with Ninja forms, such as we have with GF. Still you should be able to use Ninja forms with WPML, just at a bit more effort. If you create separate forms per language, it will work fine. Insert the shortcodes for the different forms into content in different languages and visitors will see each form in the right language.
Of course, it’s better to have the complete integration, for more convenience. If the demand is there, we can look into it.
Hi, we have a site including in its content a lot of of video-stories, there’s a “story” Custom Post Type containing the story title, author, video path/size, … We need to make our site multilingual but we’re not going to dub/subtitle videos, each language will have its own stories. Anonymous users will only see stories pertaining to current or active language, registered users will see stories pertaining to the languages they define in their profile
Is it possible with WPML? According to the documentation WPML will only display content that appears in each language, is there a hook or any other way to change this behaviour?
WPML does that for you automatically. Duplicating the content to different languages costs you almost nothing.
2. Write your own loop, which will display the content in all languages. This is doable, but I think that it’s not worth the effort.

WPML works fine with the plugins that you’ve listed. We don’t use P2P, but I know that a glue plugin for it and WPML exists. http://wordpress.org/plugins/p2p-wpml/
WPML also works fine with ACF. There is better integration with our Types plugin, but ACF and WPML work fine together.
I guess I didn’t explain clearly. We don’t need to make all content appear in different languages, we do need to show in each language only video-stories pertaining to it (The custom post type has a custom field to select the language it belongs to)
So, you should be all set. WPML works like this normally. Visitors will see videos only in their language. You can translate these videos and then they will appear in the translation language.
I’m not sure how you are planning to implement the language in the user profiles. WPML lets users choose their admin language. This changes the language of the wp-admin, but not the language for front-end content. If you are going to implement the templates that load videos, you should have no trouble setting the language, based on the user admin language. This will require a bit of PHP, but nothing too much.
I’m considering installing WPML and having our site translated with the services of your professional translators. Our site is built on WordPress but our shopping cart/ecommerce solution we use is Big Commerce. Can the shopping cart content (e.g. http://store.synergywetsuits.com/synergy-hybrid-full-sleeve/ ) be translated using the WPML solution?
As far as I know, Big Commerce is a hosted platform, so your shop is actually stored and managed on their system. Is this content stored in WordPress? If so, how?
I know you have a large queue for providing a non-profit lic.
We are in a tough spot in that we are a disaster response NGO here in Japan. We just had a huge disaster we are participating in in the Philippines and we are in the middle of converting from another CMS to WP.
If we purchase a lic. now so we can get going, and you decide we can have a non-profit lic later, would you be willing to refund our lic fees?
If you don’t renew after one year, WPML will continue working for you, but you cannot get support or upgrades. Like you wrote, renewals cost $15 / year for the following years.
Hello Amir, does this also count for the Multilingual Blog, upgrading to either one? (paying the difference). I want to try WPML first one my personal blog (to test) and later might want to use it for customers’ websites as well. Thanks 🙂
Can i set different plugins based on lang using WPML? I mean, can i have different activated plugins for different langs? I want a plugin just for spanish for example.
I don’t think that this would be possible. WordPress has a sequence for activating plugins, which must run fully. Once all plugins are activated, other logic starts.
Swahili is not pre-configured in WPML, but that’s not a problem. You can add your own languages easily. After you get WPML, go to WPML->Languages and click on ‘edit languages’. Add Swahili, set the correct locale and you’re ready.
We need our website to work with two base currencies one that we enter our prices in (local currency) and one that we take payments in (USD). We also need to be able to print our invoices, receipts and payments slips in either currency. Can WPML doe this? If not can you contact us directly if you can create a cutomized code that does this?
If you are building a production site, you might be interested in our custom development services. We can help you deliver a fully functional site, with multiple currencies. Since this is in development, getting it done by us might be a good idea. This way, we will make sure that everything works for you and you don’t need to wait a few weeks until this new version is released for everyone.
Have a look here for our custom development services for WooCommerce Multilingual: http://custom.wpml.org/
Hi Amira, I filled the custom development service form today but no one has replied to me. I need this work done urgently as soon as possible could you please get back to me within the next 24 hours with a quote. I can give you instant access to the back-end of the site so you can have a look as soon as I get your email.
The account renewal fee, of $15 or $39, is this fee due every year and obligated?
What if the fee isn’t paid? Do any websites using the WPML plugin stop working? or is this fee just to get the updates and support each year after the first year?
The renewal is required to continue receiving our support and upgrades. If you don’t renew, everything will continue working normally, but you will not be able to get new versions or our support.
Thank you for getting back to me. I have sent an email request and awaiting your reply. Definitely interested in custom development so please contact me so I can give you access to our website.
Can you tell me if this plugin allows translation of the registration process? We would otherwise use a free multilingual plugin, but none of them allow us to translate the registration.
We currently have the Register Plus Redux plugin installed to allow a more in depth registration process. The site only allows access to users who are registered, so the login/registration is the first page they see.
We need them to be able to choose their language on the login page before they are even logged in or registered, so they can complete the registration and/orlogin in either Spanish or English.
We haven’t tested WPML with this registration plugin. With a bit of effort, I’m sure that WPML can allow to translate its texts, but we can’t tell without checking. If the author of the Register Plus plugin is interested, we will be very happy to cooperate and make these two plugins work together. You can ask them and possibly refer to our Go Global program, here: http://wpml.org/documentation/theme-compatibility/go-global-program/
I have purchased the WPML (Blog Version). I want to upgrade it to Multilingual CMS Lifetime. I have two problems:
1. When I login to my account I cannot download my WPML (Blog Version) probably because it is over a year I have bought it. But I cannot renew it either. I need to buy it at the whole price. How can I fix that?
2. When I am logged in I can see Multilingual CMS Lifetime. I can buy it at the full price but shouldn’t it deduct what I paid for the regular version from the full price? After all this is an upgrade of software not a purchase of a different item.
The renewal option, at 50% price, is available only before your account expires. We send out notifications about this 30 days and 3 days before accounts expire. You should be able to upgrade to the Lifetime account, at a reduced cost. If you see the Lifetime upgrade at $195, please let me know.
Hello,
work WPML full integrated with buddypress? So a user can choose a language and the profile buttons, etc. are in this language the user have choosed?
Can I create also one Page for 2 different languuages? Maybe with shortcodes in the post to select different language sections?
1.) Can I integrate WPML with Buddypress, so the user choose a language and the buddypress menu items and titles changed to this language (maybe choose between english or german)?
2.) Can I also use one page for 2 different languages, so I can work with language shortcodes in the wordpress page editor to select different language section in the text?
I have to admit that this plugin wasn’t updated very recently. It works, but not all BuddyPress features and screens are fully supported. It’s on our todo list for the near future.
With WPML, you get a separate page for each language. WPML doesn’t mix languages on the same page. Of course, you can write a page with texts in different languages in it, for WPML sees it as content in a specific language. WPML doesn’t use tags to separate languages, but entire pages.
Just wondering about theme compatibility. Do you know if there are any potential issues with certain themes and do you keep a list of compatible themes?
WPML works well with most WordPress themes. Themes that use the WordPress API, in a clean way, work fine with WPML. We’ve listed some themes that we’ve tested and know for sure: http://wpml.org/documentation/theme-compatibility/
If your theme isn’t listed there, it doesn’t mean it’s not compatible. It just means we haven’t seen it.
Hello, I am currently working on a website for a client in Beijing. The initial launch will be an English version, but they will want a Chinese version as well. I am a little confused how your plugin works. I know that my theme supports it, but I am not sure how it will be implemented and how much work will be needed. My client is willing to translate all of the content, but what else will need to be done on the wp-admin level in order to make it work?
Sounds to me like you will have very little work to do on this project (which is a good thing). You’ll need to install and activate WPML. Then, configure the languages (2 minutes) and add a language switcher to the theme. WPML lets you add nice language switchers without any work on the theme. See here: http://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/language-switcher-options/
Then, your client will translate the content without your help.
OK great. Are they able to translate ALL of the content? As in, the home page widgets, sidebar widgets, menu, footer widgets, tags, etc? Or do those areas get translated automatically with your plugin? I guess I am still a little confused how the rest of the site will look when someone selects “Chinese” from the language selector. Will I basically have to replicate an entire website version?
Yes. Some will be page content and some as strings. Widget titles, for example, are handled in WPML as strings. There is a separate admin screen for menus and there are separate translation controls for content of pages (incl. posts and custom types).
The end result is that the Chinese site should include everything that the English site includes, just in Chinese.
i just want to make sure before i buy a version of wpml i do make the correct choice.
what does “Websites – Unlimited” mean?
Can i as a developer just buy one full version of wpml and use it on all my clients sites if i wanted to? or does the unlimited only apply to sites related to the company with owns the license?
Exactly. Almost all our clients are web developers. We know that you need to build sites for many clients. With your WPML account, you can use WPML on all your client sites. We ask that you don’t redistribute and pass your account to others. We don’t limit your usage, but we do have tracking of what’s installed from what account.
Hi! We are currently thinking of developing a bilingual site (English/Japanese) and currently considering WPML We are basically a group of volunteers organizing events to raise funds for shelters in Japan. My question is can we still apply for the NPO usage even if we are not currently registered as an NPO?
Before we buy WPML, we’ve a question about WPML and WPBakery Visual Composer. Ok, it’s functional but not really usable. This is just a string translation, we don’t see the real grid of visual composer. What’s the solution ? Do you know if Is there a plugin available for that ?
Sorry, but we don’t have experience working with that plugin. If the plugin author is interested, we can work together and help VC register all these texts are translatable strings.
If you’re a client of VC, ask and see. We’re always here and interested on working with other authors about compatibility.
Just want to confirm – This plugin makes it easier to handle multi languages, but does not actually translate the website? You still need a translator? Ideally I do not want automatic translations, I have someone who can do this for me.
Exactly. WPML lets you manage content is several languages in the same site. It doesn’t translate the content, but makes it very convenient for you to translate your content.
I am looking to create a multi-language site and have a few questions:
1. Do I create a sub-domain for each language?
2. Can I have a page where the site visitor selects the language and then proceeds to the correct page?
You can put different languages in subdomains, completely different domains or in the same domain, under language folders.
You can create a welcome page, where visitors first select the language. Although this is technically possible and easy to do with WPML, we usually recommend against doing so. Such a welcome page may cause your site’s search ranking to go down, because all Google will see for your homepage is that language selection. Anyway, this is up to you. WPML makes it easy to implement.
but can i creat like xxxx.com/en or xxxx.com/ro one page for diferent language? and i was thinking if i use diferent language can get a penalty from google? from duplicate content?

Plugins: Posts 2 Posts, Advanced Custom Fields, Simple Slideshow Manager, CMS Tree Page View
Thanks in advance
To make all content appear in different languages (without translation), you can do two things:
1. Use WPML’s content duplication – this is the easiest solution and what we do in our own sites.
http://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/displaying-untranslated-content-using-content-duplication/
WPML does that for you automatically. Duplicating the content to different languages costs you almost nothing.
2. Write your own loop, which will display the content in all languages. This is doable, but I think that it’s not worth the effort.

I can’t find your application when I look in our non-profits requests queue. Did you submit it here?
http://wpml.org/purchase/non-profits/
Let me know when and I’ll expedite it.
Ok, resubmitted as requested.
When I submitted the form, the counter read:
We are handling request #2887 now. There are 2902 requests in the queue.
I hope that helps find it.

Done. You should have gotten another email with your login details. All the best with your mission.
I have 2 websites on different server and domain, do I need to buy 2 times the plugin? Thanks Sara
You only need to buy WPML once and you can use it on all your sites (or client sites).
I don’t understand if i have to pay 29$ for one blog unlimited time license and i can use it on all my sites without update licence update …
or
29$ + 15$ Account renewal per year and i can use it on all my sites
If you don’t renew after one year, WPML will continue working for you, but you cannot get support or upgrades. Like you wrote, renewals cost $15 / year for the following years.
what if we purchase Multilingual CMS, but the next year, we want to change to version Multilingual CMS Lifetime, how much we will have to pay?
You will only need to pay for the difference, which is $116.
Hello Amir, does this also count for the Multilingual Blog, upgrading to either one? (paying the difference). I want to try WPML first one my personal blog (to test) and later might want to use it for customers’ websites as well. Thanks 🙂
Yes, you can also upgrade to Lifetime from Blog. In that case, you will need to pay the difference btween $195 and $29.

Certainly. We do the same here for wpml.org. For example:
http://wpml.org/es/ – Spanish
http://wpml.org/fr/ – French
Works very well with Google.
