WPML works great with WooCommerce and GravityForms. You should be all set. Please note that you will need the full CMS version ($79) to build multilingual sites with WooCommerce and GravityForms. It uses all of WPML’s features.
We haven’t tested WPML with UPME. It looks like a great plugin. I’m sure that there will be no conflicts, but you might need to have language controls for the front-end user registration. It might work, but might not.
As a client of UPME, would you like to ask the author if he wants to cooperate with us and check compatibility together? If so, we would be very happy to do so.
1. You can build all your client sites with WPML with a single purchase. No need to pay per site.
2. You can buy the yearly account now and upgrade later to the Lifetime account. When you do that, you will only need to pay the difference. And, yes, it’s also good for different websites.
Gostaria de tirar uma dúvida, tenho a versão antiga do WPML e gostaria de mudar para versão nova que comprei.
Como faço essa mudança, vou perder algum dado nessa atualização?
Yes, you can buy the $79 account now and later upgrade to the Lifetime option. When you do that, you will only need to pay the difference. You have a whole year to upgrade.
WPML works fine with responsive sites. You can create different slides and display them in different languages. This works fine and I’m seeing some clients using Royal Slider and WPML.
The $29 cost for the multilingual blog plugin is a one time fee with no annual renewal fee correct? I’m seeing the “$15 Account renewal per year” beneath the free updates and support and assume the $15 is for those two items and will be reminded via email to purchase that item as opposed to being auto billed.
Exactly. You will not be auto-billed for anything. We send renewal emails before your account expires, so you can renew and continue getting support and updates, but this is up to you. If you don’t renew, your sites will continue working normally. You will not have access to our support or to updates, but everything will continue working as before.
WPML comes with over 40 languages pre-configured. This includes all European and Asian languages. Ukraine is included. Yes, WPML is only available for WordPress.
I’m not sure that your question is, so let me try. WPML can add a language switcher to your site, which lets visitors choose their language. Please note that WPML doesn’t translate content for you. It allows you to write content in different languages and lets visitors choose the language that they want to read in. WPML works fine on network installations, but doesn’t require multisite to work.
I’m not sure if I get it right or not, please correct me if I’m wrong. Once I install the plug in, my site will have an option to perform in the language I select right? Without me translating everything myself? But it also have an option for manually translate.
Please clarify this for me. Sorry for asking silly question but English is not my first language so just want to get it right before purchase.
WPML lets you run a WordPress site with several languages, but it doesn’t do the translation for you. You can translate your content or use translators, but WPML doesn’t translate content automatically.
Hello,
My website is very simple and just need to have a menu in english for the english pages, and the menu in French for the French pages + a switch language button.
Before purchasing, I would just like to confirm that those options are available in the basic option (29USD) ?
Thanks.
Antoine
The main difference for you would be in WPML’s String Translation module, which is available in the full CMS version. The String Translation lets you translate texts that are not part of any post. For example, the site’s tagline and widget titles.
You can buy the Blog version ($29) and see. If you need to translate these texts, you can always upgrade to the full CMS version and pay the difference ($50).
Hello,
I am building a bilingual English-Greek wordpress-woocommerce website. For the translation of the pages I use the plugin Polylang, which for each English page creates a mirror page in Greek. Of course I have to edit the corresponding po and mo files for Greek inside the folder of languages of woocommerce.
The problem I am facing is that the internal links of woocommerce, like “View Cart” or “Proceed to checkout”, redirects me to the English version of the corresponding pages, thus the user has to switch languages.
I am wondering if using the multilingual CMS WPML I will resolve this problem.
Thanking you in advance
Spyros
WPML has complete integration with WooCommerce, which will allow you to run a multilingual e-commerce site. We filter the WooCommerce links (there are many) and make sure that they retain the language information. In fact, the language is kept all the way until the ‘thank you’ page and the client account is created.
If you switch to WPML, all this will work fine. You cannot mix Polylang and WPML, to get content translation from one and e-commerce functionality from the other. The two plugins will collide on almost everything.
Thank you very much for your helpfull reply. I will procced to buy the cms WPML version. Before I do that, please inform me what I have to do in order to install properly the WPML plugin. Is it enough to deactivate or delete the polylang plugin and possibly to delete the content which is in Greek or I have to do major actions?
Many thanks
Spyros
I think that Polylang also saves translations in different posts. This will make your migration work fairly easy. De-activate Polylang, activate WPML and go through the translated content to associate it with the corresponding English content.
I am using an iTheme Builder theme and WooCommerce. Of course I want to be able to translate the site, but my boss has a few questions.
I have looked into a single WordPress installation (which I am currently using) and setting up a WordPress network with Multisite. Which is the best to use with WPML?
Here is what we want to be able to control:
1)Translate the entire website including posts, pages, taxonomies, custom post types and WooCommerce products and shop.
2)Keep the woocommerce products and images attached to them, but only show certain products depending on the country… some products will not be sold in china or mexico
If you use WPML, you will be able to have this site in a single WordPress installation. This will make your admin management a lot simpler. Instead of independently maintaining several sites, you’ll need to handle just one. If you want NOT to display certain products in certain languages, just don’t translate them. Your store will only show products that are translated, per language.
The standard way to buy and install WPML should work fine on sites with GoDaddy too. You can always upload manually using FTP and you can get automatic updates for WPML via our Installer plugin. Have a look at this page for installation instructions: http://wpml.org/faq/install-wpml/
hello – I am looking for something to help me turn our site into a bilingual (eng / french) site. I would like to be able to have a language menu to choose and I think this should be simple to do. Can you advise me which version I need?
Certainly, this is exactly what WPML does. With WPML, you can write content in different languages in your site. That content can be translation, or completely different content per language. WPML lets you display language switchers in different places in your site. This includes widgets, as a menu item (which I think is what you are interested in) and in the footer. Have a look here for language switcher options: http://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/language-switcher-options/
If you are running a simple blog, the Multilingual Blog ($29) should be fine for you. For complete sites, you will probably need the full Multilingual CMS version. It includes everything you need to translate every piece of your site, without writing any PHP.
Thanks for the reply. I am just worried about support and install? Is it fairly straight forward?
I do not have a ‘big’ site but we might end up with a donate button and mail chimp integration. You can see an example at our site which is leannebourassa.ca
My question about the size of my site was more to do with which version I need? If you think I am fine with the blog if that is what you think is appropriate.
Hi Amir, we are building WordPress themes for themeforest marketplace, we do not want to include it bundled with our themes, but we just want to test it if it is compatible with our themes, so we are sure that your plugin works smooth on our themes, what version of WPML should we buy?
If you are writing themes on ThemeForest, you can get WPML for free from us. We want to work on compatibility with theme authors and try to make it easy to work with us. Please refer to our Go Global program and apply there: http://wpml.org/documentation/theme-compatibility/go-global-program/
There’s a short queue and your request should be reviewed very soon.
Hi Amir,
I’d like ask. I’ve a client which wants implement WPML plugin. I need the licenece for one. Can I pay for plug-in from may bank account or PayPal? it’s not problem with licence?
You only need to buy WPML once and you can use it for your different clients. When you buy WPML, you can use a credit card or wire transfer via PayPal. Please note that PayPal e-check payments take several days to complete.
We are planning to purchase WPML for our site. We have a couple of question regarding compatibility with our theme and other plug-ins which utilized for our site.
1-Is WPML compatible with Elegant Themes ?
2-Is WPML compatible with other plug-ins such as Contact 7, Alo Easymail, image widget, WP UI, or do you have list of WP plugins which they are not compatible with WPML?
I don’t have experience with the other plugins you’ve listed, but it shouldn’t be a problem. WPML runs fine with almost every WordPress plugin, because of its architecture.
1) Will I be able to create forms for collecting data that will collect the data using field labels in more than one language? Saved to the same table?
2) If I understand correctly, if I code something custom, as long as I hold to the po / mo standards, this plugin will allow me to manually translate?
3) We would appreciate consideration for a non-profit license. We have applied twice for a non profit and we have never received a response. Any idea why? It’s been weeks.
1) Sure, you can create forms in different languages. WPML works great with GravityForms and with CRED. Both let you create forms with full translation. The results will be saved in the same place in the DB for all languages.
2) If you code something custom and you keep to standard WordPress practices, your code should work fine with WPML. Make sure to wrap static texts in GetText calls and do your DB access via the WordPress API calls. It should work with WPML and will be translatable.
3) We have a queue for reviewing these applications and we’re going through them as fast as we possibly can.
Ok on the queue. I just was wondering since it had been a few weeks now. I understand “busy”. I just didn’t know if I needed to submit the request again or what.
I want to use this plugin for one of our clients website. I need to know one thing. I wanted to keep the flags in the header. This is bilingual website and there will be two flags one for english and one for turkish. My question is when somebody clicks turkish flag, will all the website content into turkish and all the content that is displayed will be in turkish? or by default the content loads in english and visitor needs to click the turkish flag for each and every page?
WPML lets you write content in multiple languages on the same WordPress site. You can translate content yourself or using translation services. However, WPML doesn’t translate your content for you.
If you add a language switcher to your site, it will allow visitors to choose in what language they want to read. When they switch to Turkish they will see the content that you’ve translated.
This functionality is what I’m looking at. But this functionality comes with a multisite installation or single wordpress site will also give this kind of output?
Hello
i am working on a Multi-Vendor eCommerce site website
questions
1. since its a Multi-Vendor kind of site with each vendor having access to their account for posting products, using your plug in will they be able to add content in a few languages? each of the users will have a store …are they going to be able to choose as many languages as they wish for displaying their merchandise ?
2. is it possible to set the landing page by language depending on the ip and location of the user?
1. Right now, the WooCommerce Multilingual admin is open to administrators only. We are going to create a new capability for language management, so that you can allow different users, with different roles, access to that. This way, the users that you choose will be able to directly access the products translation.
Otherwise, already implemented today, you can use WPML’s Translation Management screen and allow vendors to translate their products from there.
2. WPML’s browser language detection works according to the language headers and not the IP. We found that this is more reliable, as people may live in one country, but prefer to read content in another language.
3. WPML lets each user select his/her language in the WordPress admin. If they choose and Hebrew, Arabic or Farsi, they will see the WordPress admin fully localized to that langauge and in RTL orientation.
Hi, the WPML plugin looks really promising. We are currently searching for plugins to build our website. Does the WPML plugin works with:
wooCommerce or Jigohsop
Grafityforms
Thanks,

Hello,
I have a couple questions. Is the full CMS license usable on diferent websites or just one.
Can I upgrade from full CMS to lifetime?
Is the lifetime license also available for use on different websites?
Thank you,
1. You can build all your client sites with WPML with a single purchase. No need to pay per site.
2. You can buy the yearly account now and upgrade later to the Lifetime account. When you do that, you will only need to pay the difference. And, yes, it’s also good for different websites.

Você pode atualizar WPML em seu site. O conteúdo não vai mudar.
Hi,
got 2 questions before buying:
. If I buy a 79$ license, can i upgrade to Lifetime by paying the difference within 1 month or similar?
thanks
Yes, you can buy the $79 account now and later upgrade to the Lifetime option. When you do that, you will only need to pay the difference. You have a whole year to upgrade.
Hello,
my WP site is in a folder named “new”. In htaccess I wrote :
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /new/$1
to remove “new” in URL.
Does it will continue to works with wpml ?
Thanks in advance
Alain
Will WPML work with RoyalSlider (http://codecanyon.net/item/royalslider-touch-content-slider-for-wordpress/700256)?
Also, does it work well in responsive websites?
Thanks
WPML works fine with responsive sites. You can create different slides and display them in different languages. This works fine and I’m seeing some clients using Royal Slider and WPML.

Hi! Where I can see all list of languages? Do you have Ukrainian language?
And other questions: is this plugin only for WprdPress?
WPML comes with over 40 languages pre-configured. This includes all European and Asian languages. Ukraine is included. Yes, WPML is only available for WordPress.
do you have any examples of this working with a Welsh Translation
There was one Welsh site in our showcase, but now I see that it only has a little bit of Welsh content:
http://www.mudiad-efengylaidd.org/
I’m sure there are others, but they’re not on our showcase.
Hi Sir,
Your plugin how to have a multilingual switch and list of languages at the top of right side home page with blogs-MU.
Thanks!
I’m not sure that your question is, so let me try. WPML can add a language switcher to your site, which lets visitors choose their language. Please note that WPML doesn’t translate content for you. Hi there –
Can you tell me which version you think will be appropriate?
Plus is there support for this? I am not exactly an experienced developer!

If you are running a simple blog, the Multilingual Blog ($29) should be fine for you. For complete sites, you will probably need the full Multilingual CMS version. It includes everything you need to translate every piece of your site, without writing any PHP.

Install is very straight forward. If you have FTP access to your site, you should have no trouble at all.
The size of your site doesn’t matter much for installing WPML. WPML runs fine on tiny sites and on huge corporate sites.
Hi Amir
thanks. I do have ftp access.
My question about the size of my site was more to do with which version I need? If you think I am fine with the blog if that is what you think is appropriate.

Is this what you intended to ask?
http://www.vefailac.com.tr/
See the above link. When english is clicked it displays only english site. I wanted the similar functionality
Yes, this is exactly how WPML works. You can click on different languages in our own site (at the footer of wpml.org) and see how it works.
Is that functionality comes with a wordpress multisite installation or single wordpress installation also do?
Hi,
This functionality is what I’m looking at. But this functionality comes with a multisite installation or single wordpress site will also give this kind of output?
You don’t need to use multisite with WPML. You can add multiple languages to a single site.
