Sure. You can buy the basic, Blog, version now and upgrade to the full Multilingual CMS later. When you upgrade you only need to pay the difference ($50)
Hi, sorry i know this is the wrong place. I have a subscription, I am able to log in, but unable to login to the forums to put up a new ticket. Can you please help. Thanks.
We are not a European company, so we don’t have EU VAT registration. It’s not a problem for you. When you buy WPML, you receive a tax invoice with our legal and tax information. You can customize it to show your company information. This is what you need to submit to your accounting.
Hi! I’m building a WordPress site for my childrens pre-school in Sweden. It’s a non-profit organization driven by the parents. I’m hoping we are eligable for the complementary version, but I don’t have (access to) an “Organization license”, as required. Is it possible to apply anyway?
I’m not sure. It wouldn’t hurt to submit that application, but our admins are pretty strict about what they approve. It’s not your fault, but there’s pretty high demand for unjustified “non profit” requests.

Hi! My subscription for WPML CMSjust ran out. Now I got the option to buy a lifetime version for $116, or to buy a new license for $79 – yet at http://wpml.org/purchase/ you state that the renewal for another year is $39 (which is an option that I am unaable to choose). Could you explain to me how I can renew for $39?
Sorry, but you can only renew at 50% cost while your current subscription is still valid. When you do that, you get an additional year from the original expiration date (not from when you renew). Our system sends automatic notification emails reminding about it.
In any case, if you are happy with WPML and want to continue with it, the Lifetime option is pretty good for you (I think). For an additional $116, you get WPML updates and our support for life. It’s pretty low, compared to other commercial plugins and themes and is also pretty low compared to our own development and support costs.
If you renew at this rate now, you secure your account for life, without any additional cost. We can’t tell if in the future, we will need to raise the cost of the Lifetime accounts. When that happens, existing Lifetime members will not need to pay any extra, but new members will pay the new price.
I have a site which already has content in two languages. The content does not “overlap” yet, but we are planning on translating in both directions using (posibly) wpml.
My question is, when I first set up the settings, as seen in the demo video, I have to select which language the current posts and pages are in. I have two languages. If I pick one, will I be able to change the language associated with a particular post/page later?
Also, will I be able to translate custom widgets found in Genesis > Associates theme?
Thank you for considering WPML for your project. Yes, you can later change the language of existing content and associate it as translation of other content (if that’s needed).
WPML lets you translate widget titles and the content of text widgets. I’m not familiar with the special widgets of Genesis. Generally speaking, Genesis is very well coded, which should make it fully compatible with WPML. If there is documentation for these widgets, please paste a link here and I’ll see what they do.
If I get the $79 or the $195 and build sites for clients, and my account is active, is there a way a client can update their WPML or do I have to do it for them???
Reason is that sometimes people move, and loose track of me or otherwise, yet I have the ‘key’ to thier plugin…
You should install WPML using our Installer plugin. This way, clients get automatic updates, as long as your account is valid. The information that you enter to their sites is ‘read only’, so your clients cannot reuse WPML, without your permission, on other sites.
You can use WPML on all your client sites. No need to buy it separately per site.
I’m building a multilingual website, and I’m looking for a solution that allows translation of text elements in a page, without enforcing me to build multiple pages – one for each language.
Does WPML have such a feature?
Sorry for the late reply. WPML creates separate pages for translations and links them together. If you want to have everything in one page, I’m not sure that WPML is the optimal solution for you. Can you tell me why you need the translations to be all in one page?
Hello,
I am selling on ebay, but use Woocommerce and the Wp-lister plug in for ebay for admin.
The multi currency part of wpml is the appealing feature to me.
When receiving orders from ebay, or paypal payments, in different currencies, will these be then correctly displayed? Means will they be automatically shown in the currency received?
Is there a (virtual) conversion to have the reports in the shops main currency?
Thank you.
I am a WP developer. If I purchase a WPML licence, will I be able to use it both for my personal projects AND my clients’ projects. In particular, will WPML updating work on ALL websites of my clients as long as the subscription is active?
When visitors switch the currency, it’s set for the order. They will be changed in the currency that you selected and your merchant account will be credited in that currency. WCML also enabled sales reports, in WooCommerce, per currency. You will be able to see the aggregate in all currencies, or the breakdown per currency.
I’m wondering how WPML handles translations ongoing? Is there a workflow when a certain page is changed, the pages for the other languages are marked and dropped in a queue of some kind?
Yes, WPML handles the entire translation workflow. It keeps record of what’s translated, per content, per language. After you translate, status changes to ‘translation complete’. When the original is edited, status changes to ‘needs update’. You can also indicate that edits are ‘minor’ and translation doesn’t require updating.
Furthermore, when you translate inside WPML’s Translation Editor, you will also see a DIFF, showing you what was changed in the original content.
Hello,
I mainly process ebay orders in woocommerce.
Selling in UK and Germany, I need to distinguish which orders are Euro and which GBP.
Will this plug in automatically distinguish between different currencies received through ebay / paypal? and display them correctly.
Are the reports per currency only? Or is there a total sales report available that coves all currencies?
Is it necessary to price each item for each currency? Or is there the option to automatically convert prices?
Thank you.
If the order originates from WordPress, WCML will correctly indicate the currency and you will have full tracking of it. I don’t know how orders that originate in ebay will work. Can you explain how this works for your site?
Hi. I use wp-lister for woocommerce to list on ebay and download the ebay orders. These then are displayed as orders in woo. I now faced the problem that all orders, GBP and Euro values, are displayed as GBP.
Thus I wonder if wcml can help me to overcome this problem.
WPML lets you run sites from different domains OR run WordPress in a subdirectory, but it doesn’t offer the configuration that you’ve listed. It’s a good idea for a future feature, but this is not implemented right now.
WPML and Pagelines theme work fine together. Pagelines DMS isn’t yet tested with WPML. We are planning to do this soon. They just released DMS2 and are planning to work with us on compatibility in the near future.

How much will the upgrade cost me, or more direct question, will I have to pay whole 195USD for lifetime package even if I`m already on Multilingual CMS deal?
If you don’t renew your account, you will not have access to new versions or our support. The plugin that you installed on your sites will continue working normally.
I want to buy WPML but have read up on a topic that concerns me. It was on your forums.
Titled: Re-thinking the language switcher in WP menu.
“Currently, when the language switcher is added to the standard wp menu, it shows the default language as the root menu item. This is true even if the admin reorders the languages – the set order is ignored for the purposes of the wp menu.
This is a pretty useless user experience. An English reader landing on the default English page doesn’t need the language switcher. A Spanish reader will look and see the option “English” and nothing else. They would need to hover/click on what they don’t want, in order to find what they want. (I’m assuming a collapsed menu here, but not many people design an always-expanded menu these days).
What would work better?
Any site with 3 or more languages is going to have some issue around this, unless the world adopts a universal word for “language switcher”. You can imagine various ideas around a universal icon – a globe, a megaphone, intertwined Latin, Cyrillic and Han characters… (optionally helped along by an admin-configurable word, such as “Languages”) (and rendered as an inline icon-font declaration for performance + retina screens).
Or you can shrug and say that the best UX for a language switcher is a flat list, and don’t put them in the wp menu in the first place. (True – but developers are lazy and other locations generally need extra styling work).
But there is one situation where the wp menu is the perfect place for the language switcher. On a bilingual site. With only two languages, only one needs to be displayed as an option. You’re on the English page? Show Espanol. And vice versa.
Please?
(And in the meantime, any thoughts on how I can achieve this with wp menu’s standard custom link? )”
How come you can’t choose the order and/or language that would appear on the menu?
I need the word “francais” to be present (the link) on the English top menu and the word “English” on the French top menu. WPML seems to have it backwards. It makes no sense.
Can you let me know if you plan to fix this? I am not a programmer and don’t want to look for special codes on forums.

hi, can you send me a email for undertanding of why i cannot post my products , it says “WooCommerce Multilingual is enabled but not effective. It requires WPML, WPML Translation Management, WPML String Translation and WPML Media in order to work.”
i want to do a shop, is it easy for me to set multilanguage + facebook linkedin etc sharing tools + can feedback on each products after customers’ buying from my shop + mobile view style
so do i only purchase the “WPML multilanguage lifetime” then i can have all the above needs.
my web space provider says his server’s space is PHP, ASP, MYSQL type, when i asked him can his server support WPML, he doesn’t know if can or not, i am very doubty, too (my website is http://www.shinybody.com )
WPML has very basic server requirements. Basically, if you can run WordPress, you can run WPML. Make sure that your web hosting allows sufficient memory. The amount of memory that you need depends on ALL plugins, the theme and your content. Generally, 128M and above will be fine.
How does translating text from plugins like Contact Form 7 work? Are there separate versions of these plugins per language?
Hello,
is it possible to start with a multilangual blog and upgrade to multlangual cms a few month later for $50?
THanks a lot.
Sure. You can buy the basic, Blog, version now and upgrade to the full Multilingual CMS later. When you upgrade you only need to pay the difference ($50)
Thanks a lot, Amir.
If I purchase “Multilingual CMS” will the plug-in be blocked after 1 year, or can I still use it afterwards (but just no updates).
With a yearly subscription, you can still use WPML after one year. Just no updates and no support.
Hi, sorry i know this is the wrong place. I have a subscription, I am able to log in, but unable to login to the forums to put up a new ticket. Can you please help. Thanks.
Hello!
I would like to enquire how to get wpml as organization? I’d like invoice for my Ltd.
We’re in EU, and have an EU VAT number.
thanks
We are not a European company, so we don’t have EU VAT registration. It’s not a problem for you. When you buy WPML, you receive a tax invoice with our legal and tax information. You can customize it to show your company information. This is what you need to submit to your accounting.
First of all: thank you Amir for quick reply!
Customize invoice after purchasing?
You can customize your details, not our company tax info. Have a look here:

I see. It’s somewhat verifyable on the current webpage: http://www.lillskolan.org/index.php?lang=1&pid=1
But I spoke to the manager today, and she has a document. I should get it tomorrow. I hope you can read Swedish. 🙂

Yes, thats right.
Hello,
I bought this theme from themeforest and I want to know if this plugin also set all the right to left issues? also widgets?

WPML takes care of right to left, but the theme also needs to be prepared for this.
Hi there,
Looking to create a multicurrency eCommerce environment using WooCommerce.
I see that WPML can change the currency in the front end but what about in payments?
Will the user be charge in their own currency/the selected currency through paypal or would it be the currency of the shop?
When visitors switch the currency, it’s set for the order. They will be changed in the currency that you selected and your merchant account will be credited in that currency. WCML also enabled sales reports, in WooCommerce, per currency. You will be able to see the aggregate in all currencies, or the breakdown per currency.

Yes, WPML handles the entire translation workflow. It keeps record of what’s translated, per content, per language. After you translate, status changes to ‘translation complete’. Hi,
WPML does allow having different domains for every language. Will it also work properly, if WordPress is working in subdirectory?
Example setup:
domain.com/blog (english version)
domain.fr/blog (french version)
domain.de/blog (german version)
etc.
Thank you.
WPML lets you run sites from different domains OR run WordPress in a subdirectory, but it doesn’t offer the configuration that you’ve listed. It’s a good idea for a future feature, but this is not implemented right now.
I would like to ask if your software supports Pagelines template too?
This is the website of the mentioned template http://www.pagelines.com/

WPML and Pagelines theme work fine together. Pagelines DMS isn’t yet tested with WPML. We are planning to do this soon. They just released DMS2 and are planning to work with us on compatibility in the near future.

Your comments are true and this makes good sense. I’m taking note of this, so that we can consider this in the future. Right now, we are closing last issues for WordPress 3.9. Yes and I really appreciate your quick response and honesty in regards to your product.
I’ll be quit honest with you. I have an old copy of WPML running on my local hard drive and have been playing around with it. I am junior web integrator and want to start a side business to create responsive websites for small businesses. Currently, creating a self promotion website using the Avada theme. My plans is to get experience with both Avada and WPML and refer them to my future clients.
I am still interested in buying a copy of WPML but only knowing that you plan to address this issue in the future. I live in Quebec, Canada and having the word (français) on the Top English Menu is a must. The french community is funny that way. Read up on Quebec for more info. LOL * I’m surprises that you haven’t been flooded with this request.
WPML Multilingual CMS Lifetime – is the plan I am interest in.

I will do my best to master your product and refer WPML to my future clients.

I wrote a message earlier about the language switcher. I was concerned about the fact that the link to the French translation says English (then a drop down that says francais – but is hidden) is on the English menu. I need it to say the word francais on the English menu so that a french person can see that the site is also in french – vice versus. Also, was interested in the option of just having EN | FR as another option. I’m really surprised that these concepts haven’t been thought through. For me the footer option isn’t good enough.
If I but the software? Doesn’t your support help me add the proper PHP code to solve this issue? I don’t have any knowledge of PHP and word need help.

I understand the request, but right now, the default language switcher in WPML is not implemented like that. If you like, WPML comes with an API which lets you code your own language switchers:
http://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/custom-language-switcher/
This API gives you the information about available translations for each page. You can use it to easily construct any language switcher, with the logic that you choose.
That page includes several examples, which you can copy and customize.
Would this help?

WPML has very basic server requirements. Basically, if you can run WordPress, you can run WPML. Make sure that your web hosting allows sufficient memory. The amount of memory that you need depends on ALL plugins, the theme and your content. Generally, 128M and above will be fine.
Yes, all the components required for WooCommerce Multilingual are included in the Multilingual CMS package.
