  2. hi amir,

  3. Hi,

I’m about to buy your plugin for a site I’m working on. It has all the features I’m looking for.

For another site I have a wordpress install on a .nl domain. Now they want this site to also run on a .be domain, with just the logo adjusted and the contact info (& then in the future translate the pages into French and maybe English).

Would it be possible to use your plugin for this, so that when somebody goes to mysite.be will automatically redirected to the be translation of the site? Without showing mysite.nl/be in the browser!

In other words can I add some php to execute the actions normally executed when I click on a language-link or flag.

    Thanks,

    Richard

    • Yes, you can do this with WPML. WPML lets you set different languages in different domains. Have a look at this FAQ for instructions:
      http://wpml.org/faq/server-setting-for-languages-in-different-domains/

Since you are starting with the same content for all languages, you should use WPML’s content duplication feature:
      http://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/displaying-untranslated-content-using-content-duplication/

This will allow you to display the exact same content for different languages. Then, you can gradually translate and have really different content for different languages. Of course, you can easily have a different logo for each language. There are different ways to do this, depending on how the logo is coded in your theme.

From what you are describing, you will not need to do any manual PHP coding, except maybe add a conditional logo display, based on language.

      • Thanks for your clarification! On your site I found the ‘Theme Compatibility list and found the7 theme by Dream-Theme to be compatible. I’m using SlashWP by Dream-Theme. Do you know if this theme will also work with WPML? I’will also ask this question on the slash support forum, but maybe you guys tested this.

        kind regards,

        Richard

        • Usually, when we work with theme houses, we encourage them to apply the same techniques for multilingual compatibility to all their themes. Sometimes they do that and sometimes not. Mostly, they apply to newer themes and not go back to update older ones. Best to ask the theme developers.

    • WPML should let you create the same slug for pages, but not for taxonomy, as this is an inherent WordPress limitation. Are your services ‘posts’ or ‘taxonomy’?

    • Yes, you can use both Chinese locales with WPML. In fact, WPML is even fully localized to Simplified and Traditional Chinese.

  4. I attended the Wordcamp program in Tel Aviv two weeks ago and was very impressed by the presentation on WPML. That was until we purchased the lifetime license. I have been using it for a few weeks and the learning curve is huge. Besides the poor documentation and idiotic instructions on the website (for example: there is a message in the refund section that reads: You may also reach our management directly, contact us. with a link. When you click the link you are taken to a list of links, none of which are management.

I have had do many things go wrong and I want support, not a forum. i don’t want to share all my issues with the public. I think that if I could ask someone some questions by phone it would be a lot faster and more constructive.

After two weeks of trying to resolve issue, I have come to the point that I feel that this is a plugin that I will recommend people NOT purchase.

    • I’m sorry to hear about these problems. I’ve forwarded your message and email address to Eyal, who presented in this event. He should be in touch with you, directly, very soon. Please let me know if you still need more help.

  5. Hi,

could someone please answer this question which I have asked one and a half days ago already:

I am intending to purchase WPML very soon (in the next few days), but I have one more question: if I choose German as my main language (I am a german native) and English as my second language, do I have the chance to add one or even a few more languages in a couple of months?

I would like to add Spanish then and even later maybe French and Italian. At the moment my languages skills in these three languages aren’t good enough but I will be practicing to improve them.

    Thanks a lot in advance.

    Kind regards

    Vanessa

    • Sorry for missing your original question. You can set German as the site’s default language now and add more languages, as you need. Sure, you can start with English and then add more, any time you need.

WPML makes it easy to add more languages. You can add a language, set it to hidden and translate content. When you are happy with the new content, turn the language to visible, so that site visitors can see it.

I’m sorry but I cannot locate your previous question. Can you please remind me what it was?

      • Hi Amir,

thank you so much for your response.

My previous question was the same as the one you have just answered. My first question has been answered by your colleague Agnes, but in this all has already been in May and only in the german forum.

Great to hear that it is possible to add more languages later. I am intending to purchase WPML within the next few days, probably during the weekend, when I have more time to install the Plugin on my Blog.

Thanks a lot for your help.

        Kind regards
        Vanessa

  6. Hi,

I’m just starting with blogging and would really like a multilingual site. Not wanting to make a big investment at the beginning, I chose the free Academica theme from WP. I wrote the author to ask whether the theme is compatible with WPML but have not received a reply.

The 1-2 hour process of making the theme compatible sounds a bit too tricky for me. I’m not sure how to find quickly a compatible theme in my price range (say, under $50). Maybe I need to hire a developer to make the blog multilingual. In which case, perhaps another kind of language switcher might be better . . .

Ack. Is there any way I can determine whether my current theme is compatible? Can you direct me low-cost alternative WPML-ready themes?

    Thanks,

    Lauren

    • When you buy WPML, you can use it for all your sites and sites that you build for your clients. You may not redistribute WPML in any form, but you can use it for client sites.

The ‘Multilingual Blog’ and ‘Multilingual CMS’ give you support and upgrades for one year. The Lifetime account gives you support and upgrades for life.

Do you need any additional information?

      • Thank you for this information.

Actually my legal department wants to read the licence contract before buying Multilingual CMS Lifetime edition.

Where can I find it ?

  7. HI, Is it possible to show only the different currency price with the new WooCommerce + WPML features. I need a feature in which I can display only the price of that country and not a converted price. Perhaps if I don’t fill in the standard price this happens? It will be the only one to appear on the product? e.g. I fill in Swiss Franc CHF only and the currency my shop is set in… US Dollar ($) price wont appear?
Let me know as soon as possible, thanks
    Alexander

    • Sorry, but WooCommerce Multilingual is not set up like that. It assumes that all products have pricing in the default currency and you can add prices in other currencies. For the ‘other currencies’, you can set manual pricing or auto-calculated pricing.

    • Perhaps you have an idea or could send me in the right direction. I was thinking of doing it with my own custom fields or another plugin but you guys are dominating in google search so it’s difficult to find any information on it!

      🙂

  8. Hi,

I need the licence contract for full limited version (195$) and I can’t find it on your website.

Can you help me with that ? Its urgent

      • Hi Agnes,

I’m afraid I need more information than your purshase webpage : I’m about to buy WPML Lifetime edition, but in my company we have to validate the licence contract (terms and conditions) before buying any software.

Please send it by e-mail if it’s not available on your website.

PS : as Raja said it’s very urgent !

        Regards,

        Rom.

  9. Hi there,

I would like to ask a question in the forum, but besides the drop down menu (What is the reason for your topic?) at the bottom of the page, I don’t see a way to post one. There is no field or no button. Can you please let me know how I can post that question?

    Thanks

    F.

    • Really sorry about that. We upgraded our system today in the evening and accidentally broke the forum. We noticed it after the developers closed for the day and we’ll fix it first thing tomorrow morning. Can you visit again tomorrow in your morning? It will work normally.

  10. Hi there,

this is actually a technical problem. But I have to post it here because the problem is that I cannot create a new Topic in the suport Forum. There is the Option box below “what is the reason for your Topic”” and nothing more. No field opens when I choose an option, nor is there a submit button or something else below. Please have a look. I tried IE, Firefox and Chrome…

    Best
    Volker

  12. Hi WPML!

I’m a developer and thinking about to buy WPML. But: I have no idea which plan to choose. My first idea was that my client purchases WPML (Multilingual Blog or CMS). Now I was asking myself if it would be better that I purchase WPML CMS Lifetime… As mentioned in the table of your deals/plans WPML is not limited to one website – it’s unlimited. So does that mean that I could use WPML Lifetime for every website and for any of my clients by purchasing that deal?

Really looking forward to hearing from you.

    Best,
    Rob

    • Hi Rob,
yes, you are right. You can use one license for all the sites you are building for your customers. The same rules apply both to Multilingual Blog or CMS, one year license or lifetime licenses.

      • Hi Agnes,

thank you so much for your fast reply! That sounds unbelievable and pretty amazing to me! 😀 Well, in this case WPML Lifetime is definitely the best choice! 195$ paid once for unlimited clients websites is the perfect deal. In this way none of my clients has to purchase the plugin.

        Again thanks a lot Agnes!

        All my best, Rob

  13. Hi,

Do your prices include tax, or exclude. If exclude, what is the total, as I need to quote a client.

Second. If we select the ‘Most Popular’ option here: http://wpml.org/purchase/ after one year will the software cease to work, or simply there will be no support or software updates. How necessary are the software updates?….I need to justify all costs to my client.

    Thank you

    Gary

    • The cost that you see on our website is final. Since we are not located in the same country, we don’t need to charge VAT from you. Your tax invoice will indicate this.

If you buy the normal (yearly) account, you receive one year of updates and support. If you don’t renew, WPML will continue working normally on your sites. Renewal is required for updates and support.

To keep our sites running smoothly, secure and fast, we always update WordPress and all plugins. If you don’t update WPML, it will continue working, but you will not be running the most recent and optimized code.

  14. Want to buy this plugin. If the translator doesn’t translate my content correctly, can I override and the correct content? Is there a way to test the plugin before I buy? Want to show my client how it would work before he buys.

    • You have full control of the translations in your site. WPML doesn’t come with content translation. If you want, you can get professional translation for additional cost. Then, of course, you can edit translations too.

We don’t have a trial version of WPML, but we do offer refunds. If you are not happy with WPML, you have 30 days to cancel your order and receive a full refund.

      Does this help?

    • What you are looking at is a rip-off which may control all sorts of back-doors and other security traps. There are no distributors to WPML and the only place to buy it safely, with full updates and support is here. I am very sorry that such hack sites exists, but it’s just a part of the Internet.

  15. Hi guys ,
I have a question, I have purchased “Multilingual Blog” plan of WPML, you told that after one year Support and Update will automatically Stop, it’s okey to me but after one year also I need to translate my site without support and update, will it work then?

    • Sure. You can keep using WPML on your sites for any length of time without support and updates. I think that it’s a good idea to renew your account and keep using the newest versions, but that’s up to you. WPML will not just stop working for you.

  16. Hi
i want to buy the 200$ wpml because of the lifetime support
but it i never used wpml before. i want to be able to try it first and test it
so if i buy the 80$ version
can i upgrade to the version with lifetime support and if yes how much do i pay?
    thank you

    • Yes, you can buy the yearly $79 account now and upgrade to a Lifetime ($195) account later. When you do that, you only need to pay the difference. Please note that if you are not completely satisfied with WPML, we will refund your order. We can issue refunds up to 30 days from the purchase date.

  17. Hi we purchased the plug in over 24 hrs ago, and still have not received the account information in order to log in and download the software. Please could you respond and send us our purchased item immediatly. We are working in a tourism industry and the multi language tool is very important for our website traffic.

    • I can’t find an account on the email that you’ve used for this comment (…@armorgos-di…). Maybe you used a different email address?

Once your order is complete, you should receive an email from us and an email from the payment processor (PayPal or 2checkout). Did you receive anything at all?

Please use our contact form to send us this information privately and our system admin will locate your account (on Monday) and can update any details needed. The contact form is here:
      http://wpml.org/home/contact-us/contact-form/

  18. Hi,
I purchased the Multilingual Blog and would like to “upgrade” to the Multilingual CMS, by paying the difference of $50.
    How is this possible?

Thanks a lot and kind regards
    Cornelius

    • Log in to your wpml.org account. You will see the upgrade button on the right-hand column of your account page.

  19. Hi,

I’m building websites based on Sitemagic and WordPress for various clients. Can I buy the WPML CMS edition and allow all my clients to use my package, or am I only allowed to use it on websites own by myself?

    – Thanks

    / Jimmy

    • You can install WPML on sites that you build for yourself and sites that you build for your clients. We ask that you keep this to sites that you actually maintain and not freely distribute WPML. All these instances will be linked to your account.
