This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: You are experiencing issues with your website after installing WPML on a site using the Elementor editor and the Hello theme. Specifically, the content below images shifts downward on translated pages, and sometimes on the original page. Additionally, images do not display in new browsers or incognito windows. Solution: We recommend first disabling WPML temporarily to check if this resolves the issue. This step will help determine if WPML is causing the problem. If the issue persists even after disabling WPML, it might be related to another aspect of your website setup. Furthermore, we suggest following the steps outlined in our guide on how to translate an Elementor website with WPML. You can find the guide here: How to Translate an Elementor Website with WPML. Please ensure to back up your database before making any changes to avoid data loss.
If this solution does not apply to your case, or if it seems outdated, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If issues persist, please open a new support ticket with us for further assistance.
This is the technical support forum for WPML - the multilingual WordPress plugin.
Everyone can read, but only WPML clients can post here. WPML team is replying on the forum 6 days per week, 22 hours per day.
Background of the issue:
I am trying to translate pages on my website, which is at the development stage. I created several pages using the Elementor editor, and everything was fine until I installed WPML. The theme used is the Hello theme. The issue can be seen on this page: hidden link.
Symptoms:
1. The content below the picture moves down the page on translated pages and sometimes on the original page. 2. The image on top does not show on new browsers (incognito windows or browsers with clear history) on both translated and original pages. Some pages work, while others don't.
Questions:
Why does the content move down the page on translated pages?
Why is the image not showing on new browsers for both translated and original pages?
Thanks for reaching out and sorry for this long delay. The reason is that I am still working with the hostmaster to try to slove issues, namely with the REST API, which apparently is caused by WPML itself.
It's now been almost 2 full days for me dedicated to solve WPML issues and I think it's too much. I used W¨ML twice on 2 websites and let's face it, it never worked.
So, I will wait a bit until the hostmaster repairs it another time, then come back here to report. If you do not have a proper solution to propose other than the basic deactivate the plugins, then I will abandon WPML altogether, t will tke me less time translating 500 pages manually than debugging WPML.
Will be back here soon, I hope to see the support team really getting involvd for once.
Thanks for the info. I confrim REST API and all parameters of the server are all right. Confirmed by my hosting company I work with since almost 20 years.
Unfortunately, WPML is not up to this standard and is still not working properly. Enough is enough, I will be using another translater and stop wasting my time to be told all is fine with WPML. It's only all the rest of the Internet which is wrong.
I still think it should be removed from the market.
To better assist you, please provide more details about the problem you are experiencing, including screenshots. Looking at the page you provided, I can see the same layout on the original and translated page.
Hi Andrey,
Thanks but it's too late now to propose your involvement. FYI, I have tried a few more translations of more complex pages and yes, the images etc were all fine.
Then I noticed the (already-translated) loop items were not being reproduced on the translated pages. OK, I could add them manually.
Then I saw that it was not possible to have the same slug for a category in different languages et.
Too much for ma. I have removed WPML and enjoying Polylang as a simple language swithcher and manually uploading translated contents. Much easier and quicker than trying to debug WPML.
I will gladly not renew my WPML subscription upon expiration.
