Background of the issue:
I am trying to use the Classic Editor interface on my WordPress site, hidden link. I am experiencing issues with the interface when editing pages that use Elementor.

Symptoms:
The Classic Editor interface is not consistent for all pages. It has lumped all Elementor sections into one block, but this issue only occurs on some pages.

Questions:
Why is the Classic Editor interface inconsistent across different pages?
Why are Elementor sections being lumped into one block on some pages?

I edited the homepage using Elementor and made a small change (I added a space at the end of a sentence). After doing that, The French translation showed it needed an update and when I open French in the Classic editor, the content is broken into different sections as expected. Please see attached screenshot.

If there are other pages iwth this issue, please be sure to update the original and make a small change and then check the editor.

But now some of the French translation is lost. See attached. This is a duplicate test site so it's not critical, and I have the exact same site live with the same problems.

Can that be fixed?

This typically happens when the translation was edited using the native WordPress and then switched back to using the classic editor or advanced editor. With the classic editor, there is no translation memory like there is in the advanced translation editor, so unfortunately if these were overwritten in the database by an update to the page, then the translations cannot be recovered. You could use the live site that has the correct French to copy and paste the translations to staging site, and then migrate the staging site to live once everything looks and works correctly there.

Please let me know if you need any further assistance and I will be happy to help.

Thanks for your help, Lauren.

I am currently working with your colleague Andreas on this and other mentioned issues. He has established that one of the problems is related to Elementor So I have also contacted Elementor and they are working on it...

Okay great, since you have an existing ticket for the lost translations, you can mark this one as resolved since we were able to fix the issue with all content showing in the editor in one big segment.

Thanks and have a great day!
