THIS IS URGENT AND CRUCIAL. YOUR URGENT HELP IS NEEDED.
After your agent fixed everything he needed on the website on October 31, it was okay for a few hours. But the day after, we needed to add and translate an article, and the website was stuck!
I contacted our hosting company (Bluehost), and for three days, they tried to fix the website in various ways.
1. They thought it was an issue with the IP address and fixed it. It helped, but again, when we started to add content, added another article, and used translation, the website got stuck. Our website was down for 10 hours because of this.
2. We contacted Bluehost again - They thought it might be an optimization problem, especially the database, and sent me a list of links on how to optimize it. Our developer did everything, but it wasn't solved.
3. Bluehost escalated the problem, and a team of experts checked it. They found a problem with the DNS records and also asked us to disable all the plugins, which we did. So we've been waiting another 10 hours for the DNS record to be updated, and last night, the website was back and extremely fast!!! With all plugins disabled.
4. This morning, I activated the first and only plugin - the WPML and tried to add content. The website immediately started to be slow—and it almost got stuck!!! I disabled the plugin and it got fast again.
The website is live now but without plugins, so it looks like a big mess. Even if I activate all the rest of the plugins, it will be a mix of all languages, which is a mess.
I need your help here ASAP. If needed, please get in touch with me over the phone at +30-6949238994.
I'm sorry to hear that you encountered an issue. I want to clarify that we did not patch your database, and it was not necessary to do so.
Here are the steps we took:
1. Installed the Adminer plugin.
2. Removed the WPML entry from the wp_options table for wpml_string_table_ok_for_mo_import.
3. Uninstalled the Adminer plugin.
As a result, the notification message on your website stating, "There is a problem with the String Translation table on your site..." has been removed.
The option wpml_string_table_ok_for_mo_import, which was deleted, is part of the WPML plugin and does not harm your website. This database entry was immediately recreated with the correct option value after visiting the WPML settings page, and the site continued to run smoothly upon further checking.
Based on this, I doubt that the issues you experienced the following day were related to the actions we took, as we did not perform any patching. I recommend that your developer continues to investigate the initial issue that may be causing the problems you are facing.
If you still believe that WPML is the source of the damage and slowness, please open a new support ticket with a detailed description of the problem, including screenshots and measurement reports. We will do our best to assist you further.
