I'm almost done translating most of the site, but I seem to have one persistent issue and that is with the footer. It almost seems impossible to translate it even though I translated the string.

I would appreciate any help.

Hi,

Thanks for contacting WPML forums support. I'll be glad to help you today.

Would you please let me know how this footer is created? Also, please try the following steps:

1- Go to WPML-> Theme and plugins localization, select your theme/plugin, and scan
2- Go to WPML-> String Translation
3- Scroll down and click on the "Translate texts in admin screens »" link
4- Search for the needed strings
5- Select the strings
6- Click on the "Add to String Translation" button
7- Then click on the "« Return to String Translation" link
8- Translate the strings, clear the cache, and check the front end

Kindly check our guide to know more about translating texts in the admin texts screen. (https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/string-translation/finding-strings-that-dont-appear-on-the-string-translation-page/)

Best regards,
Osama

Thanks, Osama for the reply. I did all of that and still don't see any changes.

For more context, the footer is part of the page builder (WPBakery PageBuilder with Globax theme). In the strings, the domain mentioned is page-builder-shortcode-strings-12498. I'll include more screenshots

Hi,

Thanks for your update. I would need to look closely at your site, so I would need to request temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP)
– preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated if possible –
in order to be of better help and check if some configurations might need to be changed.

Your next answer will be private, which means only you and I can access it.

❌ Please backup your database and website ❌

✙ I would need your permission to de-activate and re-activate the Plugins and the Theme and change configurations on the site. This is also a reason the backup is critical.

✙ I also need your permission to take a local copy of your site to debug the issue without affecting your live site.

Best regards,
Osama

Hi,

Thanks for the access details. I checked the issue and was able to fix it by the following steps:

1- Go to WPML-> Settings-> Post Types Translation
2- Set the "Footers" post type translatable
3- Translate the "Default" footer template
4- Go to WPML-> String Translation
5- Scroll down and click on the "Translate texts in admin screens »" link
6- Search for the Footer template ID
7- Select the String
8- Click on the "Add to String Translation" button
9- Then click on the "« Return to String Translation" link
10- Translate the template ID to the translated template ID

Would you please edit the following template and add the English translation? (hidden link)

After that, please check if the footer is translated correctly on the front end.

Best regards,
Osama
