Background of the issue:
I am working on a site under development and trying to use a dropdown to show language options.

Symptoms:
The dropdown does not display the language change as a list, even though I have many different languages.

Questions:
Why doesn't the dropdown show the language change as a list?
How can I configure the dropdown to display multiple languages?

Hi There!
Thanks for contacting WPML Support.

I understand the issue you're facing. Upon inspecting the language switcher, I noticed it was added via a WordPress widget. Could you please verify the language switcher settings in WPML and ensure the appearance is configured as "Dropdown"? Follow these steps:

1. Navigate to "WPML > Languages" and scroll down to the Widget language switcher section.
2. Click to edit the language switcher.
3. Set the appearance to "Dropdown" and adjust other settings as needed.
4. Save the changes.
5. Clear your site's and browser's caches, then check if the issue is resolved.

If you'd like, you can also add the language switcher using a shortcode. Customize its appearance by going to "WPML > Languages > Custom Language Switcher", and ensure it's set to display as a dropdown. For a detailed guide on the process, please refer to this documentation: https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/language-switcher-options/adding-language-switchers-using-php-and-shortcodes/#enabling-custom-language-switchers

Let me know the update. I'll be happy to help if you need further assistance in this matter.

Wishing you a Happy New Year!🎉

Best regards,
Prosenjit
