As this is a NPS/GOV page, we can not prioritise any language, so we must present an initial page, which asks what language is to be used similar to this: hidden link I thought there may be an easy way to do this, but i can't see to find any online ideas on how this could be done. can you point me in the right direction? |

Hi there. Please take a look at my colleague's recommendation here: That should help. Mihai Apetrei |

Hi Apologies for the delay in responding. I understand now that we should have set this up as "Different languages in directories" which we did not do. We have done all the translated pages as parameter driven. Can I change this now, or will I loose everything? If I can change it, where would I do that? I did take a copy of our live site to our staging site, but I received the attached message and did not know how to proceed in setting up the staging site to be able to test this. |

Hi there. First of all, I would create a full website backup. 1. Then, please take a look here (https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/language-url-options/) as you will find the steps that you can take to change the URL format. You can change it and you shouldn't lose anything. 2. In regards to the notice that you see when copying the site, please take a look here: Per our Support Policy, we can handle only one issue per ticket. Continuing with one issue per ticket helps not only supporters to focus on one issue at once but also enables other users to find solutions to their questions faster. So if the migration issue is not resolved, can you please create a new ticket especially for that as it is a different issue than the one initially reported in this ticket? Thank you so much for your understanding and cooperation and I hope that you will find all this information helpful 🙂 Mihai |
