This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client was unable to use custom translations for the 'utsolgt' string in WooCommerce using WPML String Translation. Despite saving the translations, the default WooCommerce translations were being used instead. This issue arose after updating WooCommerce and WPML to the latest versions.
Solution:
We advised the client to ensure that all plugins were updated and to flush any existing cache. We also recommended creating a full site backup before proceeding with these steps. Additionally, we suggested following the steps in our guide to find and translate strings that do not appear on the String Translation page. You can find the guide here: https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/string-translation/finding-strings-that-dont-appear-on-the-string-translation-page/

If this solution does not resolve your issue or seems irrelevant due to being outdated or not applicable to your case, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If the problem persists, please open a new support ticket at WPML support forum.

Background of the issue:
Jeg prøver å endre den norske teksten for 'utsolgt' ved å bruke String translation i WPML, men det fungerer ikke. Problemet kan sees på denne siden: hidden link

Symptoms:
String translations er lagret, men brukes ikke. I stedet brukes standardoversettelsen i WooCommerce. Jeg forventet å se: 'Midlertidig tomt på lager (på vei inn)', men fikk: 'Utsolgt, men kan bestilles'.

Questions:
Hvorfor brukes ikke de lagrede String translations i WooCommerce?
Hvordan kan jeg få den ønskede oversettelsen til å vises i stedet for standardoversettelsen?

Hello,
Thank you for contacting us
We will continue in English because we don't provide support in Norwegian.

1.- I understand you are trying to modify the translation of the string 'Utsolgt, men kan bestilles'. If that is correct, I kindly ask you to share a link with a video describing the steps you are following to translate the string. That will help me better understand the problem.

2.- Please let me know if you are using blocks to display the product page or if this is just the default template.

3.- Also, I recommend following the steps described in this guide: https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/string-translation/finding-strings-that-dont-appear-on-the-string-translation-page/ to find and translate strings.

Looking forward to your message.
Regards,
Carlos

Hi Carlos.

Thank you.

This worked before, but after updating WooCommerce (to 9.4) and WPML to latest, all these custom translations stopped working. So it's not just this one, but I picked this example since it is very straightforward.

So, I did have the correct norwegian text on the page earlier (sing string translation), but after updating they all stopped working.
