Some of our pages that have buttons, the link behind the button can be translated in the side by side view when entering a link into the search box on the enlglish side, but some pages, although the structure is the same, the link that is search cannot be found. This is an example: hidden link. When I search for "hidden link" which is the link behind the Printable PDF button on here hidden link it doesn't return anything.
Before proceeding further, may I ask you to try the WPML troubleshooting options from this guide https://wpml.org/documentation/support/wpml-troubleshooting-options/? Please try in the order given in the commands table and wait for one to finish before clicking the next one.
IMPORTANT: Take full backup of your website and database beforehand.
Please let me know and I'll try my best to help you further on the issue.
May I ask for admin access to your website to check the issue in detail? You can create a separate admin user for this purpose, which can be deleted afterwards.
Also provide detailed steps to reproduce the issue and links to pages in admin and on frontend.
Remember to take full backup of your website and database before proceeding. However, a staging/test site is highly recommended, because I may need to try some changes/fixes on the site (including plugins & themes deactivation), which may cause conflicts with the live site otherwise.
Please confirm it in your next reply or let me know if you do not agree with the mentioned.
I've set your next reply as private to share this information safely.
IMPORTANT: If you don't see the section for providing access information, do not write in the message box or the information may appear as public.
I just tried and can see that in ATE (see attached).
I simply tried these steps:
- Opened the page for editing in default language.
- Clicked continue editing (when and if shown).
- Edited that "Printable PDF" button which opened in a popup (page builder's module).
- Without making any change, simply saved it.
- Then clicked "Update" button to save the page itself.
- Then clicked the gear icon to update the translation in ATE.
- In ATE, searched for "http" and found several links (see attached) including the one you mentioned.
So I left it as it is, now you can go to edit the translation again, search for http, find and use the desired PDF link for Portuguese translation.
The key point to all of this is, that, sometimes you may need to make a little change in the content and save the page or post to trigger a change in translations.
Can you please explain about it? Some details about when and what's disappearing, so I can check again in the site.
Unfortunately, call isn't possible but you can contact on chat (the same way you went to report the ticket, you can find chat option) and reference this ticket to the supporter for details.
I just checked the page for Japanese (hidden link) and other languages and can see it translated (see attached).
While I also checked the page in admin and see a gear icon for Japanese, which means the translation needs an update. You can just click that, open in translation editor and make sure it is 100% complete (full green progress bar at bottom of the editor) and save.
Please let me know if that's it or am I missing something?
