Hello,

I have developed hidden link for a long time (yes, its still a dev site) and this site uses domains for its language (swedish:hidden link and for english: hidden link)

And for couple of days ago, i visited the hidden link to look at some design things.
And then the site had its main language (swedish) like it should.
Now when i visited the page hidden link , all the content was in english?
How is this possible?

I have noticed this bug before on some places on the site (some sections on the product page for example) but i have not seen a whole page switch language all of a sudden.

I looked at the page in back end (opened the editor) and found that all of the text in there was changed as well.
What has happaned and how can i restore this like it used to be?

I have updated all the plugins as well and issue is still there.

Even the translation page look ok. But still the page hidden link all content is in english on the swedish site...

I would like to offer to have a closer look at the problem and request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to the website to investigate this issue further.

Please be sure to make a backup copy of the website and database before allowing us access.

I may have to install a plugin called "All In One WP Migration" to make a copy of the website where I can investigate the issue further.

Question:

Is your example the only page on which this issue occurs or do you have further examples?

Now, the page "Motorcross" was originally created with the source language Swedish.

It is actually very rare, that WPML, which usually only handles translations, would overwrite this original content.

At the moment when opening the original, Swedish page, I see various errors on the blocks.

Those errors usually occur if you have been changing the code of the blocks or made other changes to your theme.

Also, this usually is not a WPML issue and I was able to recover those blocks now.

The odd thing here is, once I open the WPML Translation Editor I actually do see original Swedish content and a complete English translation - as expected.

I now used the "Duplicate Page" plugin and duplicated the original, Swedish page "Motorcross".

Now, on this new draft, we again see English content and if I open the WPML Translation we have now the source language Swedish but content in English.

This actually looks to me as if a user of the website has overwritten the original content with the English language. Are you sure that this was maybe not the case here?

If so, then we need to know how or when the issue occurred or if it is replicable on other contents.

Further, take note that if the site is not functioning as expected at the moment, then this is very likely related to the fact, that the site needs currently more than 150MB of memory but has by default only 40MB assigned in WordPress - see screenshot.

Hi and thanks for have been taking a closer look on this issue.

I am the only person who edit the page.
And i have not change anything in any plugin or theme, so i think why you did need to update the blocks is because of an update in the Kadence blocks that i use in that section.

And the "motocross" page have been done for a very long time, so no changes have been done on that page that can have occured this issue.

And thankfully, the motocross page is the only page that is having this problem with the language.

I have updated the memory limit now and the issue whith the english language on the swedish site is still there.

Now i have seen another wpml bug.
And that is when you are logged in in admin, the prices is in euro on the swedish site (scroll down on this page: hidden link), but when you visit the page in incognito, the prices are in the swedish currency.

So there is something going on with wpml that is not working correctly.
This problems occured after the latest update of wpml.
So i guess there is some conflict in the updates ofwpml and the kadence blocks/theme.

Is there any work around on this problems?

There is sadly not any way in which we could recover this Swedish content, as it was overwritten.

In order to report a bug the issues needs to be able to be replicated, means we need to know when this issues occurs in order to be able to investigate it.

Also, a bug would usually occur on all content, not only on one.

If you do not see the correct currencies in incognito mode then this might be expected, as a language cookie will need to be set for showing this information and the cookie might be blocked in incognito mode.

Please take note, that I do not work on Sundays and Mondays. I will be back on Tuesday and have another look at your site.

For now, I would need to ask for some patience.

Alright got it.

Well i manually translated back the swedish site from english to swedish. And now it seems to work fine again.

Thanks anyway for taking a look at the problem.

Take care
