Hello, I would like to change the original language of a string. Specifically there is a string that in english(original) is set up in greek words. And I can only translate it in greek. I also tried to select this string and choose the "Change language of selected strings" options but it does not let me and a warning appears that mentions "You have selected strings belonging to a package. Select all strings from the affected package or deselect those strings." Thanks in advance! |

Hi there, Thanks for your contact! If you translate only the second string, which is already in Greek, does it work? Another valid test would be to delete the strings, register them again and check if you will be able to assign the correct language now. Please give these suggestions a try and let us know your results. Thank you. Kind regards, |

Hi there, Thanks for your reply. Please try to register again the strings using one of these methods: https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/string-translation/finding-strings-that-dont-appear-on-the-string-translation-page/ Then, bear in mind that the string package should have all the strings in the same language, so kindly mark all strings from the same textdomain/package. This will make it work and you'll be able to change the language. Waiting for your feedback. Thank you. |

Hello again, I tried all the methods you mentioned and still I could not manage to find and register the corresponding string. Is there anything else I can try? Thanks! |

Hello there, Even if you scan the 'Elementor' plugin in WPML -> Theme and plugins localization? If you're still stuck, I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to take a better look at the issue. You will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply. The information you will enter is private which means only you and I can see and have access to it. Our Debugging Procedures I will be checking various settings in the backend to see if the issue can be resolved. Although I won't be making changes that affect the live site, it is still good practice to backup the site before providing us access. In the event that we do need to debug the site further, I will duplicate the site and work in a separate, local development environment to avoid affecting the live site. Privacy and Security Policy We have strict policies regarding privacy and access to your information. Please see: **IMPORTANT** - Please make a backup of site files and database before providing us access. Please, let me know if you need any additional details. Have a nice day. |

Hi there, Thanks for providing the credentials. We could translate those texts by restoring the previous English translation of the 'news' Greek page: hidden link (original Greek), hidden link one). We've just updated the English version (which already had the string translations), and it seems to have done the trick. Could you please review it, and use this page hidden link, instead of this one hidden link (which does not seem to be connected to any Greek page, by the way)? Please let us know. Thank you. |
