Background of the issue:
I have translated all the WooCommerce products on my site hidden link. I realize that when I go to the admin page of the translated products, there is no featured image, even though all my products have them in the original language. This is causing me problems with the Google Listing & Ads plugin which must find these images to generate my Google Ads product feeds in the different languages.

Symptoms:
Translated products do not have a featured image.

Questions:
How do I sync the original language images with all translated product sheets?

Hi,

So I updated this staging site : hidden link
Your access are the same as above.

To summarize my problem, I have a list of products translated into 5 languages (the original language is French), on the front side, everything works correctly, but on the admin side the product sheets do not have a thumbnail. This is a problem for the Google Listing & Ads plugin to generate multilingual feeds because it cannot find product images for the languages English, German, Spanish and Portuguese.

I'm looking for a way to populate the featured images of the translations to populate the same image as for the French.

Hi,

Thank you for the update.
I've installed the plugin "Force Regenerate Thumbnails", please try running it and check if it helps regenerate the thumbnails for the translations.

Let me know how it goes.

Hi,

I tried regenerating all the images but that didn't change anything. Product images already exist in the French language. When WPML generates product translations, is it normal that it does not take the featured image and dynamically searches for that of the original language or is this a bug on my site?

Hi,

I've checked further by creating a test product but upon uploading the image for the default language I noticed that there were some folders with pictures (as shown in the attached image).

Can you explain how is that setup/if any plugin is used for that?

Hi,

Yes the site uses the filebird plugin to sort images into folders, But the plugin does not modify the file location nor the url.

Hi,

I've tested further and I noticed that on WPML -> Settings -> Custom post types translation the "Media (attachment)" was set to "Not Translatable" and it needs to be set to "Translatable - only show translated items" (as shown in the attached image).

I've further tested with one of the products that wasn't showing the product image on the English version: hidden link.

I made a small change to the product title on the default language (just added and removed again a "+" sign) the translation updated as well and was showing the product image on the dashboard. Please try testing with another product and let me know.

Regards,
Marsel
