Hi,
I have added a new post in English (site default laguage) and then translated the same into Swedish. The post is not translated to other site languages, but instead falling back to English.
The link on our News page is displaying correctly in English and other languages. and clicking goes to the post fine. EXCEPT the only language that I really want to to work for = the Swedish translation.
The perma link in the Swedish translated post looks fine. The News page however links to a ?p=10849 - post and results in a "page cannot be found". Nor is the title of the post show as translated.
Still issues. Reproduce like this:
1. Create a post and set a custom URL eg. /news/testurl_2023
2. Translate to another language (Swedish) - which should translate to /news/sv/testurl_2023
Then try the resp URL's...and you will find that the translated does not work.
I managed to make a translated URL working only by copying an existing post and then publishing again...
Thanks for your update. If you need both languages to have the same permalink, please check the following steps:
1- Go to WPML-> Settings-> Translated documents options-> Page URL
2- Select "Copy from original language if translation language uses encoded URLs"
3- Click "Save"
4- Go to WPML-> Languages-> Edit Languages
5- Select "Yes" under "Encode URLs" in the Swedish language row
6- Click "Save"
7- Create a post and set a custom URL e.g /news/testurl_2023
8- Translate it to Swedish
Thanks for your update. I would need to look closely at your site, so I would need to request temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP)
– preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated if possible –
in order to be of better help and check if some configurations might need to be changed.

✙ I would need your permission to de-activate and re-activate the Plugins and the Theme and change configurations on the site. This is also a reason the backup is critical.
✙ I also need your permission to take a local copy of your site to debug the issue without affecting your live site.
Aha - that easy. A bit strange though... Now I added Spanish and there was no need to separately Publish this page/translation - the page and URL is there immediately.
Any logic here that I am missing?
