This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client is trying to translate a 'mega menu header' into German on their site but faces issues with the menu's organization and appearance after manual translation attempts. They also inquired about recovering a deleted automatic translation of a menu or how to re-enable automatic translation.
Solution:
Firstly, the 'max mega menu' plugin used by the client has known compatibility issues with WPML. We recommend checking the existing support tickets for potential solutions or similar cases here: WPML forum discussion and a custom search for related issues: Google custom search.
If no solution is available, suggesting the plugin's support team join our 'Go Global' program could help make the plugin fully compatible with WPML: Go Global program.
Regarding the deleted menu, unfortunately, it cannot be recovered. For translating the menu, you can explore three different methods detailed here: translating menus with WPML. However, due to the known issues with the plugin, we cannot confidently recommend a specific method without knowing how they interact with this particular plugin.

If these solutions do not resolve your issue or if they seem outdated, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If further assistance is needed, please open a new support ticket at WPML support forum.

Hi there.

This "max mega menu" plugin seems to have known issues with WPML.

Please take a look at this existing ticket here and my colleague's response:
https://wpml.org/forums/topic/max-mega-menu-is-not-correct-in-other-language/#post-15595174

I also ran a Custom search so that you can easily have access to all the existing published tickets that are related to this same plugin:

Many people have reported it, so I recommend contacting the plugin's support team to see if they have a solution.

If they have no solution, you can also recommend them to join our 'Go Global' program (https://wpml.org/documentation/theme-compatibility/go-global-program/), where our Compatibility developers will help them make their product 100% compatible with WPML for free.

I hope that you will find this information helpful.

Initially at least part of the mega menu was translated correctly, but I removed it, and tried to create it manualy in other language. This is when it crashed.

Is there any way to bring back the automatic translation of one of the menus that I have deleted?

If not possible to bring back deleted menu, then how to make automatic translation of a selected menu again?

Hi there.

Unfortunately, deleted content can't be recovered.

Regarding translating the menu, there are three options that you can use:
https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/translating-menus/#choose-the-menu-translation-method

I am unsure which works best with this non-compatible mega menu plugin. You can probably try to use the third option, where you manually translate the menu from scratch if it works well with the plugin.

But it would be hard to confidently recommend one of the steps, considering that the plugin is not fully compatible with WPML and that I have never used it before.

I hope that you will find this information helpful.
