Speed differs greatly in different languages / countries

bergmans23	Hi there, We have WPML running in 6 languages on hidden link. We're trying to get into the German market now and whilst our Google ads campaign in that country delivers a lot of traffic, we also find, while testing the links from the German search results, that entering the "german" part of the site is sometimes very very slow. I've run a lot of tests with my web host and they advise me to come and talk to you. Is there a way for you to analyse our WPML implementation and setting and advise us as to any improvements? I browsed your website and I can't say that I see any differences between how fast pages load: hidden link Sometimes on original English language it may take 1-2 second longer than on other pages, but sometimes not which is normal. Next time these pages will load quickly and can see the same loading speeds on various languages. Can you perhaps record a video using tools such as hidden link to illustrate where exactly is the performance as significantly different? Regards, Bruno Kos

bergmans23	Hi Bruno, Thanks for getting back to me! I will try and record some stuff as soon as I have the opportunity. I must say, the actual behavior when on the site is not that bad, it's more that if coming from a google search result in Germany, some links go intermittently fast and slow. Same happens when speed testing in Pingdom e.g. Testing hidden link does 16 seconds, then 1.36 seconds, then longer again.... Generally, I'm quite anxious to here from professionals like you if I'm using WPML in the best way possible in this site and if all my configurations are correct. That helps me eliminate it from my list of doubts! 🙂 Thanks in advance, Bye Ward

Bruno Kos WPML Supporter since 12/2018 Languages: English (English ) German (Deutsch ) French (Français ) Timezone: Europe/Zagreb (GMT+02:00)	I tried loading the website in Dutch directly from the Google and sometimes the first load seems to be a bit slower as well. Perhaps preloading cashing may help, in case you're not using such plugins, even though the website does look quite fast? Other than that I cannot say that I have some ideas at this point as performance tuning is quite complex process. Sure, let me know once you have a video that shows the difference between the original site loading and translations.
