Background of the issue:
I am trying to resolve an authentication issue where the WPML instance on the live site mistakenly identifies it as the dev site. I followed steps from a WPML support ticket to temporarily fix the issue by modifying database entries, but the problem has returned.

Symptoms:
The live site displays an error indicating that the site has moved. WPML is not authenticating correctly, causing major problems. The French site now shows lots of English everywhere, the media translation isn't working, and embed codes are now showing as code rather than the embedded elements.

Questions:
NEED ASSISTANCE ASAP. CONSIDERING SWITCHING SITES AWAY FROM WPML.

Hello,

The migration banner is always expected and needs to be completed.

Could you please provide more details about if you are not able to complete this banner for some reason?

---

Did the site URL and/or server change after switching from development to production?

WPML must be re-registered after every website migration or after changing the domain or domain provider. I suggest you first remove any assigned credits from the site:

https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/how-to-assign-automatic-translation-credits-to-your-sites/#how-to-remove-credits-from-a-site

After that:

1) Go to https://wpml.org/de/account/websites/

2) If the old site URL is no longer needed, delete it from the list.

3) Now enter the site URL again. This creates a new site key.

4) Click on "Show key" and copy it.

5) Enter the key under Plugins > Install > Commercial (tab) to re-register WPML. If WPML is still registered here, de-register it first.

If the problem persists, please let me know.

Best regards
Andreas

I've done all of this, removed credits, created new site key, replaced site key. Still doesn't work. I can't map any languages, can't get the migration banner to go away, can't link translated pages. Translation Manager has never worked (even before this issue). Still experiencing major problems!! Need some actual site support please.

Indeed, the Translation Management and the Advanced Translation Editor will not function until the migration has been completed.

Inside the banner, click the link "mark it as a copy" in the bottom section.

If this will not solve the issue, please let me know.

This got rid of the banner but we are still experiencing multiple major issues.

While we were experiencing this issue, we needed to create new pages and had to create them as unlinked pages. I tried connecting them by following steps on this WPML article but we don't have a Connect with translations option: https://wpml.org/faq/how-to-link-already-translated-pages/

We also have had major issues with using Media translation, where linking PDFs resulted in site wide chaos of a lot of content being changed from French to English on the French pages. I would like to have a site review by one of your team.

Please advise.
